Easy run to ainslie for a little loop then home. So nice this morning! Woke up with a really big headache so that made it a bit bleugh but still enjoyed it. Heaps better than yesterday's run....

was a giant slacker this morning and decided to have breakfast instead of doing this session. had time for it this arvo, but goddam i got soo soooooo hot out there!!! think it was partly dehydration and also i was wearing my tights (for some silly reason). anyway, was seriously dying from being so overheated that this session was useless. tried to try hard in the intervals but they were very very slow.
had a cold shower when i got home.
most definitely running at 6am tomorrow morning, when it's not so hot and sunny!

riding home seemed like a lot of effort....infact riding out of uni was really hard and i was going realllllly slowly. put it down to being really sore from my massage yesterday, but finally decided to check my tyres and yerrp got a big flat. dammit!!! havent had a flat in more than a year! so had to walk half the way home :(
i dont think my tube-fixing skills are very reliable at all so wouldnt be surprised if it was flat again tomorrow!

Easy run up to ainslie and in there for a tiny bit then back home. Felt really good, which was a bit random. Soleus got a tiny bit tight but wasn't too bad. Getting a massage this arvo anyway :D

Stretching, lots and lots of stretching. Soooo sore after my massage! Was told everything in my legs was very tight, and so were my back and glutes. Woops. Thought I'd been stretching lots but clearly not enough!

ran from home to majura pines to suss out if any of it was still runnable. wandered around on the fire trails a bit, past all the logging trucks, and found one section that was yet to be thinned! so cruised the single tracks in it, which was soooooo fun.
same old story: L soleus got really tight, running was really slow and uncomfortable, then all got better and i felt great! :D

Morning run to ainslie and around there randomly then home. Goddddddaaaaammmm soleus was being a bitch again and made things really uncomfortable and slow for the first half. Then felt really good.
Have put some kinesio tape on for tomorrow then think I'll take an easy week and lay off the running

felt like i was going to faint in my anatomy lab today, and i don't think it was because of the dissected eyes and heads in the class....think i was dehydrated from the pool session. or maybe just tired. anyway, riding home was a struggle.

singletrack hills on ainslie, 5x80sec with walk back down recovery. legs felt low in energy - was hungry going to bed last night so maybe that has something to do with it? haha woops. apart from that pushed hard so got the hr up even if my legs wouldnt go very fast.
L soleus really sore and tight warming up again, R soleus not v good either. tibia is also a little tender and swollen, but it didn't hurt to run on. really want to get a sports massage somewhere!!

4x3min w 90sec jog recovery, same as last two weeks. did them on the same single track and was surprised to find i ran much further than last time! despite actually feeling worse in the legs than usual...
felt pretty gross and sleepy when i woke up at 5.30 this morning so decided not to do this pre-uni. it was so goddam hot at 3pm though, i got so boiling and so thirsty! certainly made me miss running early :)

morning run to majura pines, pretty much all on singletrack. felt crappy for the first 25mins because my L soleus was really tight and sore, so was running slowly and not enjoying it. then it got better and i felt really good! wish i could have felt that good for the whole thing.

same hill sesh as last week (5x80sec), on the same singletrack. wasnt as fast as last time :( might have been because it was really muddy and wet so the track was more slippery. felt pretty good in the legs though, pushed pretty hard. arms and hands never warmed up cuz the rain was pretty freezing!

got to test my internal compass in a prac at uni today: had to walk across an oval blindfolded, aiming for a particular spot on the other side. i have to admit i thought i might be better at it than most people.....but nooo, i was really bad!!! went waaaay off line and would have walked into the river if my partner hadnt stopped me haha! good thing i get a real compass to orienteer with ;)

4x3mins with 90sec rest again, on the single tracks. Didn't feel as good as last time, really suffered on the third one which was all uphill, was going sooooo slowly as I couldn't move my legs faster! Anyway, good session. A shame it's now dark at 6am :(

Did 4x3min w 90sec recovery (jogging) on a single track on mt ainslie. Felt quite good! But on the third I started feeling low on energy...Need to have dinner later I think! Keep having it at 5pm haha.
Really enjoyed it. Shin was good too, wore my orthotics with no troubles. Sooooo happy it's been behaving for the last few weeks. Hopefully it will stay that way...
