running long 2:03:18 [3]

nice long run from bottom of mt tennent to honeysuckle (basically). really pretty scenery and some tough climbs (i.e. tennent!).
dont meant to sound negative, but there is something wrong with my body - felt extremely tired and suffered the whole way. same sort of thing as yesterday during hill ints. suspect its my iron levels again - really really need to start eating red meat or liver or something (i dont like taking supplements). might go see a dr about it too...

hill sprints in the morning
we went to black mtn cuz we thought stromlo would be too muddy - since there are no trees haha.
think my hill selection may have been too steep...felt really odd at the end of each interval - heart was beating much faster&harder than usual on intervals and i felt really dizzy. or maybe it was cuz i was really hungry for breakfast?
felt normal warming down...so dont know what was going on.
also just thought it might have to do with my iron levels. have had low iron in the past plus havent eaten any meat (fish not included) in aaaaages. hm.

did prone holds whilst playing a racing car game on my ipod. worked quite well as a distraction! too bad i sucked at the game....

rode around the lake from home. will start to ride more often again, noticed my shin soreness was getting worse in the past week.....
i know i always whinge about this, but today i was SERIOUSLY over studying. every time i sat at my desk my attention span lasted one question before i found something more interesting to do (non-physics related). i just want my summer holidays :'(

cockies long
bleugh. felt sooooo tired. completely died going up ainslie and skipped majainslie after that. ran along the flat tracks to try to make it up to a semi-long run duration....but decided it was foolish to push myself when so tired.
garmin says the TE for this run was 4.3 and my ave HR was really high.
ah well, cant have a good week every week. atleast i got out and did something :) it was good weather for it too, no where near as hot as yesty morning.

Spent aaaages (30mins) finding a suitable hill. But once I found it it was ok.
Nice to do it somewhere different :) and nice to get away from physics study :)

missed the xc tonight cuz i volunteered to help, so got dropped at stromlo afterwards and ran around there until in got dark (which was really quickly!) then home. did afew laps of burrinjuck crescent cuz i felt like running for longer and it was kinda fun in the dark :P sussed the duffe night life.....
finished my run at 8.45pm haha, so much for studying physics (my bed time is 9.30pm)

morning long run at strommy. went around the edge of aracnacopia (? dunno how to spell this) then up to the top of stromlo then just whizzed around on the single tracks before going back to the car.
watch died at 90mins, but time of day and mothers watch said i'd prob done 1hr50.
came across a 'track closed' sign at one point, so just thought 'meh' and kept going. came to an epic ravine! haha! got down on my stomach to drop into it (while miff licked my face) but it was a bigger drop than i expected....so i kinda messed one leg up a bit. found out mother went a bit to the left where there was a much better crossing point haha.

ints at stromlo. had to do it in the hot arvo cuz i didnt wanna be in a rush for my chem exam this morning (yep, how rude to have an exam on a saturday morning)
anyway, did 6 x 90sec single track hills. they were fun! there were lots of banana bugs around though. spent the whole time going over all the questions i did wrong in my chem exam. grr

abit muddy and rainy out at strommy, but it was really fun! ran to the top, which was covered in cloud, then along skyline etc.
felt alright, calves got super tight going uphill. neeeeeeeed to stretch. instead of just thinking about it :P

i dunno how long i took, its on my watch somewhere but i dont really wanna look as i know it was slow. however, it was raining pretty heavily, the course was apparently 300m too long, and it was all on the wet slippery muddy grass (like a real cross country!).
so yeah. doesnt really matter what time i took anyway as i pushed hard and thats all that matters :)
oh and i didnt wimp out because of the rain like heaps of people :P

morning run at stromlo, took my bio notes with me to read whilst running. should do this way more often! not sure whether i learnt anything, apart from the fact that im prob going to get rolled in the exam, but it was a really good distraction from plodding along.

cockies long run, though i failed at the cockies bit. had to have a pee stop early (thanks GrantM and geoffrey for waiting) then not long after i got a massive nose bleed! wtf, havent had one of them in years. so i waited with my nose in the air until it stopped. weird.....
anyway, after that i'd lost everyone except for geoffrey, so we went to the top of ainslie, over majainslie (g-fry left here), wiggled slowly through the pines then went up majura on the road.
glad i can still run for almost 2hrs at an ok intensity. good to get it done before it gets hot too!
