felt awful this morning, did not want to get out of bed and could not get my brain to focus during lectures :(
need more sleep or something....also think its maybe due to stress. feeling really confused and unsure about many things in life right now - oing and uni and where i want to go in life etc etc

went out to AIS pool to pool run only to find it PACKED. and i hate pool running when people in the same lane are swimming. got a tiny bit in before i gave up. super annoyed i didnt get a good session in, and wasted time getting to the AIS and mucking around when i could have been doing some uni work...

Ints on black mtn from uni - timetable has changed so I now have 3 8am lectures per week...waaa!
Did some 400s 300s and 200s....don't know how this took me almost 90mins!!!!! Maybe my warm up an down were longer than I thought...pretty long session anyway. Tired as now, and shin hurts. Gonna keep running only 4 days a week for awhile.

headed over to bruce ridge in the morning...but got a little lost in o'conner going up and down random roads looking for pedestrian paths through to the other side haha. once i finally got to bruce ride i was feeling quite tired so called it quits on the hard session i had been planning. ran slowly back home.

gotta remember to make my easy days easy so i can recover properly for the hard days...

from home up ainslie from the back and around for a bit then home again. reeeeeally nice morning - not a cloud in the sky! :)
felt a little tired so didnt push it for longer than this, and so will hopefully have good amount of energy for a good session tomorrow.

foolishly forgot to bring a house key with me, and when i arrived home no one was there! had a few nightmares about being stuck out of the house all day dying of thirst and hunger....then lizzie came back and shortly after her sah :)

annoying timetable on friday means i have a 3 hour gap between lectures....have no essential work/study to do so went home and made a toasted sandwhich for lunch using lizzies toasty maker :) (thanks lizzie!)
was going to go pool running in civic but dont think my kinesio tape fares well in the pool...already wasted a strip yesterday so didnt want to risk the current strip peeling off.
would be a good day to be in the pool though, finally feels like summer!

ainslie terrain ints with lizzie....well, we warmed up together, saw her on the first then she disappeared! did 7x2mins with 1min jog recovery. did the first 3 through the terrain then thought i saw a snake so did the other 4 on single track haha. good session though, felt ok and pushed hard like on tuesday. must be because im taking iron tablets regularly again ;)

CORRECTION just looked on garmin training centre and thought my session looked a little odd...then i realised i actually did 8x2mins this morning. which better explains how i missed lizzie haha. think i need to learn to count again :P

pool running ints @ dickson. shin achey today, no running.
completely forgot about sunscreen so am most likely extremely sunburnt :S
good session though! AIS would have been better to do it at, but wont be doing that till i get my car :( :(

int session on mt ainslie, from home. 3 x 4 x 400m with good recovery (starting small, so walked half recovery times).
times were all over the place as the track was quite undulating and at times the interval was straight up a 400m hill. happy with effort (think i gave 100%), as for the running speed...hmm.

got a huge gastrocnemius cramp coming home when i had to break really quickly to avoid being hit by a car haha....scary!

orienteering intervals 1:25:45 [5]

O intervals out at kowen. did that cool session lizzie introduced me (bit hard to explain on here). so there were about 6x1km O ints plus the recovery jogs along the tracks to the next start plus the warm up and warm down.
felt soooo rooted (hence logging as intensity 5, which reflects my level of fatigue at the end, not the running speed...) dunno whether its a) cuz im really unfit, b) i havent taken iron tablets for ages or c) it was hot and i was really thirsty.
prob a combination of the above i think...got lots of work to do!

easy explore of area around new house and up onto ainslie. felt tired initially so walked for ages...then ran back home and felt ok (since it was downhill haha).
shin ok but aching a little now.

plan to do team abs later tonight if the others are keen :D

run at stromlo - last time on the west side for a while (until i have my car atleast :D)
must have had a bit of a brain fade when i decided to go - midday in february....lucky it wasnt too hot but since stromlo has minimum tree cover it felt really sunny.
apart from that it was fun to spin around on the tracks. shin felt ok :)
thought i was going slowly but TE from garmin was 4.2 :/

late evening pool run @ AIS - best place for it i reckon cuz it's deep the whole 50m (plus its 50c cheaper than dickson).
havent done this for ages, and was expecting it to be dead boring, but it was quite fun! might have just been the novelty...but still! would like to do this a few times a week :D
did some intervals - 6x75m, which took ~6-7mins. the efforts didnt feel that hard though, but maybe it'll take me a while to get a feel for it :D

easy run at kowen, where the O was.
foolishly moved all my O gear into my new house, so didnt have anything suitable to race (though prob could have borrowed it if i was really keen)...so just went for a nice run on the new single tracks around there. was so fun! good to be running again, and shin felt mostly good (must be the magic kinesio tape ;)), though got a little sidetracked and may have overdone it a little....

very pleasant - nice temp...not at all like february though.
bum is sore now!

Strength and Conditioning 35:00 [3]

mostly core stuff, some leg strength + some physio exercises
hopefully will do this regularly!!

physio didnt think shin pain was shin splints (phew) but tibialis anterior was inflamed and very tight. she also thought my feet might cause me problems as im quite flat footed, so may need orthotics...
anyway, have to ice, stretch, continue taking anti-inflams, and tape left shin.

super tired today - had a bit of an epic yesty....plane from wellington to syd was just starting to descend when they announced they had to go via melbourne due to bad weather....so due to that slight detour we missed our bus to canberra (which was the last one of the day) and spent the night having a great 'sleep' in the airport.

good to rest my shin anyway. been taking anti-inflams which have reduced the pain...keen to do some cross training though. off to see the physio tomorrow!

Left shin causing me lots of grief - during stb and this training camp. Worried its shin splints or something so am being very cautious not to overdo things...booked into physio when I get home

ride around the lake at lunch. not much sun but it was a good temp :)
decided to do heaps more cross training as my left tibia has been hurting for quite awhile....
