In Ballarat, did 6x3min on the single track. Felt a little tired and legs were especially weak on the middle few ints. I was determined to do the session though because I get my wisdom teeth out tomorrow and (from the sound of it) won't be doing any training for the rest of the week. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!

Sprint final. Well this didn't start well when I ran to (very obviously) the wrong first control and then started up the scaffold stairs before the alarm bells started ringing. Had an ok patch after that but then was just navigating too slowly and kept going down dead ends and doing stupid stuff like that. And also, like a lot of people, had heaps of trouble with the "underground" controls because I really couldn't understand the map there. Soooo a really bad run, and was very disappointed. Didn't feel like I ran a technically very good race over the whole weekend, but it was super fun and I think I had a better pre-race mentality than usual so that was good!

A guess of overall time for the mixed relay. In a team with Jacqui! :D Super fun map and area, really enjoyed this race. I had semi ok runs only, found I didn't have very good flow and was waaaaay too slow with route choice decisions. On the plus side I wasn't nervous or too worried like I used to be before NOL races so that was goooood :)

Qual race. Had a really sloppy race, was running totally out of control and often had to fully stop just to catch up to myself. Also was for some reason intimidated by all the detail so often chose routes wide around it all - probably a fair bit slower than going straighter. Surprised to make the final! Another really fun race and area.

Had a sweet 11hr sleep last night after suddenly feeling extremely tired and flu-ish :/ feel ok today though.

running tempo 53:36 [4]

Did a 25min tempo around part of north adelaide. The 25mins includes stopping at lights to cross roads and also includes walking up a little hill ;) (so maybe more of a fartlek, just random harder bits with some randoms rests). Didn't go super hard, but relieved to actually feel decent after some really crappy couple of days. Loving this cool weather!

Woke up feeling a bit stiff and sore so decided to do a ride rather than a long hilly run like I had planned. So rode up the river. Really enjoyed it! Though it felt like hard work, maybe cuz I haven't ridden in soooo long? Anyway, this probably doesn't equate to a long run but never mind, I will have to start doing them again after the NOL!

running tempo 1:03:56 [5]

The tempo I was planning to do on Wednesday, around north Adelaide (warm up, 41min of tempo, warm down). Really enjoyable! Was pretty slow, but that's ok cuz I think it's the effort that counts, and I was stuffed after. Also had mini breaks during the tempo when I had to cross roads and such things (included in time). Saw so many weddings - I counted six!

Also, I woke up with a sore lower back today, I think from sitting poorly at my desk all week researching low back pain for my honours project.....hahaha whoops. Felt it while running but hopefully didn't make it worse.

Snap sprint series no2, on a map that's up the torrens. Really fun course! Enjoyed it heaps and felt like I was doing pretty well, until I got to the o bahn crossing and got super confused. The map showed we were able to cross underneath the bridge over the river, but when I first looked it seemed to be flooded...so then I decided to go under the o bahn on the other side of the river...anyway, spent ages messing around there being like "wtf how do I cross this" until I discovered that yes I could cross where I originally thought I couldn't (that whole story probably doesn't make sense haha) anyway arghhhhhh lost a good 2.5mins there I reckon. Brain was a bit addled after that but eventually got into it again and finished ok I think. Felt ok running but should have pushed a bit harder I think.

Meant to be a tempo this morning but it was HOT (think it was almost 36 when I got back home?) and I failed miserably. I know I keep whinging about the weather but eurgh adelaide sucks - think today is the 13th(?) day over 40 for the summer :/ deathhhhhhh

6x3mins along the river. Started a bit harder than last week but died more at the end - legs got really sore :/ hope it wasn't from pounding the bike path.... Slept in a bit too much so glad I wasn't punished by the heat as it was actually kinda cool this morning (25 degrees is cool now haha)

Decided a sleep in would be good this morning, since it wasn't forecast to be so hot - good move as I had a great sleep! (But also had a weird dream about being a drug dealer :/)
Got the bus to morialta in the arvo intending to do a 30-40min tempo, but felt really weak and couldn't push at all so stopped after 23mins. Annoying! A pretty terrible week of training....but I have just moved interstate and started honours in the same week so maybe that was to be expected...

Had planned to do something harder this morning but those plans fell through....and it was too hot (almost 31 at 6am :/) and I felt too dehydrated and sluggish to make myself do a harder session by myself. So just jogged and did some run throughs.

Snap sprint at uni of adelaide and unisa. Think it was about 36 degrees, and I totally died. First few controls were good then my body just said 'nope' and I slowed down sooo much and got way too hot. Technically didn't have any major issues, but since I was so slow my flow was pretty ordinary. Felt unwell afterwards :/

Intervals along the torrens, did 6x3mins while moth rode my bike. Felt ok actually, but still pretty slow. Nice cool weather! :)
Hamstrings sore in warm down - probably not used to doing an hour on the bike path. Better be careful cuz that'll probably happen regularly from now on...

Have orientation at uni from ~9-5 this week, which is a bit of a shock to the system, so thought I'd have a rest day today! Did a decent walk to/from uni from my temporary accom though.

Turns out I did get time for a run. A nice tour around creswick forest, but realised I haven't done a long run in a few months I think (uh woops) so it was a struggle near the end and the whole run was rather slow.
Now get to drive to Adelaide in the beautiful 43 degree weather. Lovely.

Easy run with moth. Hungry and tired this morning so left it a bit late and it was feeling hot already...
Driving to adelaide early tomorrow morning, but it's going to be 43 there so don't think a run will happen.... Oh well!
