Lillomarka North-South mass start orienteering event. This usually involves a traverse from North to South requiring a train ride to get to start, but this year they held it all at Solemskogen. Fun event with a decent field, including Magne Dæhli. Fast start where er dere all running in a long stretchy line. The elastic eventually broke and I got into a smaller group with Mathias, some juniors and some slightly older guys. The juniors went a different way and we didn't see them for a while until they passed us from behind (must have taken a poor route choice somewhere).
At some point we got to a big steep hill and I thought "this is what will separate the boys from the men". Sure enough the boys took off and left the rest of us behind.
Caught one of the juniors with a few kms to go, but started getting a bit sore legs. No one seemed to be able to ditch the group and it got a bit ridiculous when we were all walking up the hill to the last control. The junior was strongest but managed to keep the rest behind, even Mathias who was running quite well today. 6th place in M21, 9th overall. Cold 8 degrees and raining on and off. Glad I had long sleeves and spikes, though my feet will hurt for a bit after this.
