orienteering 1:30 [3]

Hammond's Rocks
SVO event. I hoped to have nicer run but was a little bit disappointed. We were for 4 hours in the car only to be DNF. Or more exactly I was DNF. Jan went Red and I went white with Alex. That was really nice except all that bugs. My first error. I put some antibug cream on Alex but not on me ;-(. When Jan came back he told me to be very careful, and I made another mistake. I decide it to go also Red (19controls!) in spite of tiredness I felt. I hate blueberries! Terrain was difficult and placement of controls even more. When I was doing 2-nd attempt on #7 it started to rain and soon enough I couldn't see and I was exhausted and I couldn't find that #7 etc. I thunk it was first time I give up a course before running out of time. I was knock out all day after that.

orienteering 1:33:03 [4] 7.44 km (12:30 / km)

Meadowood-green
Lot of trees, branches, too little green on the map and to much in reality.
Rain started probably when I went for #8, it got really dark and of course my wet glasses didn't improve visibility at all. But I finished anyway.
Did also yellow with Alex.

roller skating 34:00 [1] 6.01 km (5:39 / km)

As usual, but today I had silly fall. I got back from skating to the parking lot realizing I have 5.98km, so I wanted to rounded number from my gps and made some additional loop around parking lot, but didn't see concrete bars (because I was staring on the screen of my new garmin , silly of me) in the middle between car stands. I jumped over first one but didn't manage to do it over second one. I had fortunately all possible safety pads on elbows, knees and palms, but managed scrap my elbow anyway. It still stings as a hell and it looks ugly.

orienteering race (Long) 1:18:01 [5] *** 6.9 km (11:18 / km)
shoes: orient w/spikes

Did some silly errors (like passing my control because I read code 19 and needed 61, after long while a realized I read it upside down and went back, another one I mis-punched but fortunately I check the code after, etc. I don't think I was so slow but made bad choices that cost me a lot of time.
But overall it was great weekend. Hope to have more of these (may be with better personal performance ;-)
