Ski conditions were excellent and I felt surprisingly good. Another good day of training hours. Enough (i thought) to open a gap on Sudden for 2017 hours. But he put in a big day.

So now I've got to put in some training hours in the last two days to narrow the gap.

in airport during a 3+ hour delay (and counting). **** Once plane finally arrived we boarded quickly only to sit for two hours on tarmac due to fog. flight was then cancelled after 10hours in the airport. Will try to get home again on Tuesday but now have to fly thru Chicago. Hoping I don’t run into Del Griffith.

What a day. Started work at 645 and got to our research (now a construction site) after dawn. Lots of logistics to work out with navigation, eqpt hauling and concerns of strong wind and rain to start at 3pm.But we got it all done by 425 with little daylight left and spent the last 90 minutes working in really cold and wet conditions.The final boat ride was brutally cold. In the summer the boat ride at the end of long hard work is a reward but this was a penalty. The fact the closest Timmies had a malfunctioning hot chocolate machine didn’t help. Research is very tough at this site but very rewarding - especially the navigation requirement.

full day of fieldwork. perhaps the most frustrating two days of research in my career but the place is so beautiful it was hard to get too upset. unfortunately it means i have to stay up three more days and miss icebreaker
