Quick relocation exercise with AG! In the spaghetti contours before taking off to Tdot to see Cirque in the grand chapiteau then to yyz for flight to UK for a week.

SMT with tarno and Trav and a pack of hounds. As expected the travel and fieldwork (14 hours a day) this week did a number on me with sore legs and knees before and during the run. but the Marks were kind and even told me to slow down.

Core and yoga each evening in AB while watching northern lights. Didn't do enough of this but was pretty tired each day.

MTB from Westdale to Christie and back with Anvil, Sudden and Grenade. Fun biking on Christie trails but I bonked with a half hour to go. Low cal freeze dried food carb loading apparently isn't a wise approach. :-)

Who was the better leaf? Wendell Clark or Darryl sitter? Wendell's trade for mats was the best trade the leafs have made in decades but sitter had that mega point night.

The reason I ask is my address in Nobel officially changed today from 17 to 27 Big Sound Road.

Core and also a good 45 minutes of rolling and stretching while watching most of the Canada-Germany FIFA U20 game. Very entertaining. Canada came close. Also watched Korea upset the States. Canadian TV needs more amateur sports like this. It was very entertaining to watch. Sure beats the CFL or Poker.

Hoka trail shoe fail at TNT. Not since i ran in chunky Salomon shoes have I gone over on my ankle as bad as I did today in my hokas this evening.A whopping 57 seconds into the run too. Not a great debut for these new shoes. After that I got into a nice flowy running form (I think) but had to walk up hills. I can see why they are popular. But now the knee is hurting and ankle too so maybe overdid it. Salomon shoes killed my ankles so hokas have potential to destroy them if I'm not careful. but I think using these shoes to get in some more mileage on easy grass or wide smooth trails or treadmill is good and i will stick to inov8 x-talons for the type of running I prefer on technical trails and terrain.

Hike at mount Seymour with Etoile then jog on queen Elizabeth park map. Bought a pair of Hoka's at Dave cressman's store (met him on chairlift to start of long last week). Gonna take getting used to wearing those chunky and goofy looking shoes.

Note

I figured out how to handle the mosquitoes and FDFs of summer. Move to BC. Saw only 4 mosquitoes and 2 horse flies in 10 days. Not bad.

Lost lake trails with Serghei S and Tarno. Totally shredded the blue trails. Very sweet trails and tough workout. Legs quite tired after lots of rugged O.

Easy warmup after taking the chairlift to start.
Later in the day took chair lifts to top of Blackcomb.
bmay helped me get over my fear. Then I took the peak-2-peak across to whistler. I pity the person that had to sit where I sat next #sweaty

Nationals middle. Lots of ice and vitamin I got me to the start line. Fun and challenging nav got me to the finish. Two 40s errors and then tired legs (still recovering from 8hr AR) cost me time on the final loop. But I'll take the scalps.

Nationals training after lots of knee icing and vitamin I. Was
Able to jog 10 minutes. The knee pain appears to be bursitis. Painfull but not that bad if I walk at times and wear compression wraps on the knees.

Jogged with Etoile but messed up two CPs big
Time and she beat me on those.

Spent most of the day at beach and whistler Brewhouse. Last time I raced nationals it was in a cow paddy filled field with long grass and skeeters. I like the upgrade whistler.
