Spent the day at a World Wetlands Day symposium at U Waterloo. Was fun to be on an experts panel Q and A with Kevin Rich from Ducks Unlimited. I've previously only see Kevin at adventure racing and adventure running events. Had hoped to ski at Bechtel on the way home but it was already a long day of talks and brutal K-W traffic so rest day it is.

Adventure Running Kids turns four years old today!

We had 7 kids (all girls) participate on the first evening of our 4-week winter pilot project back in 2010. Since then total number of sign-ups for ARK has exceeded 2600 and we are now in 7 communities in the Golden Horseshoe.

beauty run through the snowy DV with Trav. Started with a historical tour of Maplewood and then most of the normal route. Did a full on travesty with the 10cm of new snow covered up some ice. But overall a super fun run. K2 was magical this morning.

Knee felt fine so went out to the NW section of the SSR in a raging blowing snow storm. Near zero visibility and huge drifts at yesterday's finish line. Ran a but with GHOSLO. Logie had already picked up the CPs I was going to get but that was OK since it was great to get out and snowshoe off trail again and I didn't feel like paying $20 to XC ski on a marked route.

Crazy drive back to BMR ploughing thru 1m drifts then sliding sideways down scenic caves hill. Fun weekend in the snow. Now back to icy conditions in the Hammer.

Snowshoe Raid awesomeness with great new format. Bent towed me and pushed me and even dragged me around the final 80 minutes. Heck he even supplied trekking poles when needed. Thanks Richard. Main goal accomplished! ie.,Badness conquered.

Thanks to Coach Tarno several of our Adventure Running X athletes (and their parents) are getting a free VO2 MAX test this winter. It is part of a parent-child (ages 10-17 fitness study.

Wow, VO2 MAX testing, winter races and training, summer camp, summer trip to Whistler. This is starting to look like a real team thanks to PH, Dana and Tarno.

-Brand new (revised and exanded orienteering map of the entire Dundas Valley that links Dundas, Ancaster, Greensville, and West Hamilton

SMT "classic" with KatieMac, Trav, #turbo, PH, and PBV. The 'modern' SMT wasn't possible given the Hottage road closure. Lots of ice but good running in the forest. Knee hurt from start to finish. :-(

Tough race in Sunnybrook. Had a bad start but battled back into the lead for a brief period but then started to fade after an hour. Great course. thanks TOC. Ended up 5th behind Noah, Nick, Emma and Christian. Good day for the fARXleberries team as well as our "The Good, the Bad and the Aussie" team.
