Note

Biking home with AdventureGirl! yesterday after Sports Fitness Camp and we witnessed a great example of why the world is gonna fry.

Some rich woman driving her Porsche SUV was 'walking' her dog while she sat in the AC environs of her *&^(&(*7 vehicle as she drove around Mayfair circle.

Too bad this person didn't have the brains to drive around clockwise.

But I guess that since she is a person that can afford that kind of car deserves the luxuries that go with it she also deserves to drive in the (&*(&(*& left lane as she went around counter clockwise while over 400 kids go out of camp and tried to bike on the road.

I'm sure there is a quote from Pulp Fiction that I could use to finish this rant with but a this point I am at a loss.

with AdventureGirl! at the Pinery. The Pinery has a bit of crap forest but in general is home to what is the most awesome woods in southern Ontario. Would make a world class orienteering location. Sudden said so himself.

v. easy again today. tired after waking up at 4am to follow the long quali at WOC.

WOC FASHION UPDATE: The best looking orienteering jersey at this year's WOC is by far that of Team Canada! They look great. Not too jazzed about the grey knee patches on the pants though. Mike showing off the top O fashion and looking strong (witha nice grimace too).

very easy indoor cycling (knee still sore) while examining yesterday's WOC sprint courses. There was some very interesting route choices- with decisions to be made in a split second. Cool! It is amazing what sprint has done for the sport. Orienteering IS a spectator sport and Canada needs to have a few high profile sprint races. Maybe that will be my next project?

3.5 years ago a young guy chatted with me about possibly moving to Hamilton for a year because he wanted to improve his orienteering. He looked fit and had a plan but was 20-25% behind the top Canadian men at the time. Yesterday he finished less than 30 seconds behind the winner in the WOC sprint quali and fought hard in the finals after giving everything he had in the morning. Well done Patrick. Great racing! Can't wait to see where you are in another 3.5 years.

whoever says orienteering fashion is only pajamas hasn't been watching closely enough.

sometimes you need motivation to train and Kempsters performances certainly provides that. I wonder how long it will be until a Scandi club signs her up for future Tio ad Venla racing?
