Orienteering race 44:45 [4] 3.4 km (13:10 / km) +145m 10:51 / km
shoes: VJ Bold

Leg 3 of the W120+ relay with Alison & Claire.
Avoided the mini mass start, but almost had the area to myself and loved it :)
Best area of the weekend, and I overtook a competitor on the muddy, muddy run in :)

Orienteering 1:03:29 [3] 4.0 km (15:52 / km) +170m 13:05 / km
shoes: VJ Bold

Tough, steep, technical, satisfying, though a little frustrating with the mistakes I did make. Particularly number 2, I knew I was going the wrong way from just north of the circle and did nothing to stop myself - I think I just was in denial that the control was uphill!!
3rd on the day, 3rd overall. Can't be disappointed given how little exercise I have done over the last few months. Legs are wrecked!!

Orienteering race 1:06:37 [4] 4.3 km (15:30 / km) +145m 13:15 / km

Legs did not want to work, navigation pretty straightforward (no 4 was annoying, I don't know what happened, I had seen a lump on the horizon, decided it was my knoll and stopped concentrating.
Rocky and steep in the woodland, and I was cursing the planner onthe climb up to 16!!
3rd on the day.

Orienteering race 20:39 [5] 2.8 km (7:23 / km) +20m 7:07 / km
shoes: Adidas Durano

JK sprint, Lancaster.
An hour late starting because of motorway delays - 4 hours to drive from Stafford!!
Just stopped raining and the paths/steps were pretty slippy while the grassy areas were slippy and muddy, especially if you wanted to run hard into a control and stop quickly. Definitely more cautious than I would have been had it been dry.
Only mistake was being distracted by someone who had had the same 10 & 11 as me, but a different no 12 and I was too busy re-folding my map and planning ahead to notice until it was too late. Otherwise clean and slow - beaten by Helen (can't remember the last time that happened) and Lisa (first time ever - 3 seconds!!!
