Run 48:47 [2] 2.7 mi (18:04 / mi)
shoes: vj's

Control hanging on Hednesford Camp for Saturday event.
Beautiful day, loads of families & kids, & the best bit of all is that we've nearly filled the YH for the Jubilee Weekend with families :o)

Thursday Jan 26, 2012 #

Run 58:27 [3] 8.3 km (7:03 / km)
shoes: Adidas Response Light

Thought qI'd head out for a Plodders run to test the legs, but ended up with everyone else "going around the block". It were a big block, & once we'd started, there were no going back.
From Kelvin & Carleys, round the back of the sewage works & down to Tixall. Back along the canal & up thru Yelverton park-ish.
Legs hurt.
Think I'm better!!
Distance via MapMyRun, time via Educated Guestimate due to Garmn operator error :o(

Recovery day. Feeling loads better, but taking it gently.

Note
(sick)

Heading for one of my best (non-skiing) months in history, but with a week to go, I've turned into one big virus :o(
Sinussy & just a little snotty, tickly throat, coughing a little, headache & woollyhead & revenge of the killer burger. Feel cold & shivery sitting at home on the sofa with the heating on & my ski jacket on. Couldn't face enuresis clinic.
Wonder how much faster I could have gone yesterday if I hadn't been brewing the lurgey?

Orienteering 49:42 [3] 4.6 km (10:48 / km)
shoes: vj's

Gentleshaw middle race.
A slog - struggled with the tussocks etc.
Just felt a bit bitty, but I guess with 21 controls in 4.6km, it will do.
Legs feeling yesterdays hills.

Swimming - I hate swimming 45:00 [2]

After an afternoon watching Strictly in Brum, I missed the first 15 minutes of swimming, but I'd never have managed the full hour - legs knack'd!!
Tried a nose-clip that didn't slip off, & that helped. My first 15m front crawl done properly, & managed 3 of them :o)
Slowly, slowly, but I'm getting there :o)
