Note
(injured)

Spent 90 minutes setting up for tonights relay training with handover pen, spectator loop, address labels for bibs, mini relay and fully gaffled courses :0)
Bloody freezing, so glad we put the tent up.
Managed to run across the football field, but coccyx still hurts when the pelvic floor comes into use preventing incontinence!
Don't think I'll be pushing my luck at the weekend, but I'm not going to be stuck in the tent, either.
On the plus side, my cold has gone...

Dudmaston HOC event.
Took Holly & Isobel.
Sent Hols off around the white, then went around the yellow with Issie. Then sent Hols off on the yellow (with fingers crossed, hoping I would see her again!), and walked ever-so slowly around the white ready to pick up Issie if she got really desperate. She didn't, and Hols came back, so all good!
5 PM

Note

Control collected 3 controls from todays MBO score. Jogging was a little more comfortable this afternoon than it had been this morning - JK looking more realistic now :0)
7 PM

Pilates 1:00:00 [3]

Could do cat stretches, & chill in childs pose, but still had to sit on a block with my coccyx hanging over the back, & shoulder bridge was a bridge to far (ha ha, Kate!). It's soooooooooooooo much better than it was last week, though.

Vermox addad to my list of current treatments after a disturbed night last night for Hols. No evidence of problems for me, luckily!!

Note
(injured) (sick)

Now I've got Stodges man-flu. Wouldn't be so bad, except sneezing kind of makes me scream, and it probably disrupts resolution of inflammation, too :0(
Very glad I was only entered onto one day of W35S at the JK!
I've butchered Hollys old swim discs to make a kind of coccyx cushion, far more comfortable than a text book to hang the coccyx over the back of!

Note
(injured)

Raided the physio store room & found an air-filled cushion I can sit on & hang my arse over the back of.
Medication free, but in pain, but much, much, much less pain than I was in on Wednesday/Thursday.
Getting lots of sympathy from colleagues & patients!!

Very limited, very sore after 8+ hours of travel.

Skiing 6:30:00 [3]
(injured)

Explored all over with the family. No codeine today, just the voltarol.
Had Inga with us, which helped keep the pace down a bit, & allowed Hols to keep going to be almost the last out on the mountain.
We did timed slalom runs (well, Stodge & Holly did, I took the photos), ski a cross runs (Inga once, me twice, Stodge & Hols 3 times!!), up to Pralongia & down the other side, up to the cafe below Boe & then up to Cherz, Pralongia & back down the luuuuurvely Blue 9.
Fantastic day, fantastic week, fantastic chalet, fantastic resort. Looking forward to next year, we've barely scratched the surface - I need to do the world cup black run, & would like to do the Sella Ronda at some point, but there's so many other villages to explore first :0)

Skiing 3:30:00 [3]
(injured)

Stocked up on diclofenac & codeine phosphate, determined to ski, & I was actually far more comfortable skiing than sitting down, just odd bumps & jolts being extremely painful.
Took the camera out & went back up Boe (but views not as clear, very hazy), down to Arabba, up the Porto Vescovo cable car from where Mark headed off to the Marmolade glacier & I headed back down in the cable car (the only other option being a red mogul run, & codeine hadn't knocked that much sense out of me!), over Cherz & Pralongia & back home.
Much better than I thought I'd be :0)
Looking forward to skiing with Hols tomorrow.

Note
(injured)

No skiing, intense pain on any movement what-so-ever dulled by regular Voltarol. Eased a bit by evening.
Did make it up the mountain in the gondola to watch Hols in her slalom race - great determination but too much snow plough to take the trophy (poling in snow plough is not the way to go!!), but she did end up on the podium in 3rd.
Proud of my baby :0)

Skiing 5:30:00 [3]
(injured)

An awesome morning with Steve & Stodge in the Hidden Valley.
A moment of muppetry on the horse-tow out of the valley when our skis crossed & I went thud. Not good when surrounded by skiers hanging onto a rope who can't avoid you. Was worried about my knee at the time, but 30 minutes taker, my bum/lower spine siezed.
Skied with Hols in the afternoon with no style, & a squeal every time I went over a bump or the chairlift went over a b-dum, b-dum, b-dum bit. By the time we got back to Frohsinn I couldn't bend down to pick my skis up off the floor :0(
An evening spent lying on my bed with a bag of snow sat on my bum....
Not sure how much more skiing I'm going to get done this week.

Skiing 3:30:00 [3]

After dropping Hols off at ski school, me & Mark headed up Boe & back. Absolutely fantastic views from Boe that I stayed to look at while Mark tackled Vallon.
After lunch, skied back with Hols & then tobogganned again - cracked the cornering, but the weight advantage of Stodge & Holly on the same sledge gave me no chance...

Skiing 2:30:00 [3]

A quick after-lunch blast around the slopes above San Cassiano with Linds to get an idea of the area after a morning spent tobogganing with Holly. It's stunningly beautiful, and the skiing is luuuurvely.

7 PM

Run 53:57 [3]
shoes: Retired nike Air Pegasus

Chasers Thursday run from the Heathcote-Greens (minus Miss Heathcote who was in Chamonix!!). Run with Ray & Christine, Ian T, Beth & Mark G. I struggled. A few short-cuts from the main crowd, but very tired legs & body at the end.
In the dog-house for forgetting to order sustenance for the temple, but was saved from the Spam Award by Beth who forgot to take her clean bottom half and had to make do with a posh top & lycrs tights (also saved by Phil, who managed to order an extra mini-fish, so even after donating a salad pitta with protein loading to the temple, I didn't go hungry!).
Route:

Circuits 45:00 [3]

One sausage roll, a glass of OJ & half a glass of ribena isn't ideal as a daily intake before training, so I did the first circuit with Lucy & Issie, and then left them to it for the second circuit & joined Em.
Nice having a group of about 7 genuinely interested juniors for the junior training afterwards, who debriefed Sundays event well and asked sensible questions.

Note

Celebrated Hols birthday with a Chinese & some cake.
At lunchtime celebrated my dietary success with crisps & a small packet of chocolate buttons.
It's just been that sort of day...

7 PM

Circuits 50:00 [3]

Cardio, arms, legs, abs & repeat x4, with a proprioception in there 2. 45 on 30 running recovery. Went around with Isobel, & the girl done good!
8 PM

Run 23:13 [3] 2.55 mi (9:06 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Response Light

Usual route with Steve, Simon & Jo (by far the slowest, hardly a surprise). Tried to take a shortcut up Overhill Road, but the back gate was closed, so by the time I went back up the sports field to get in, it wasn't that much shorter anyway!
