8 AM

Run 1:35:40 [3]
shoes: Inov-8 Flyroc 310

Westend and along the beach (it was high tide so there was only soft sand and a rather strong head wind...tough work but at least the view is spectacular) then the ecology trail and up onto the South Coast at the watertanks. Foot seemed pretty good today but my legs were exhausted by the time I got up to the tanks.
10 AM

Swim 15:00 [2]

Round the moorings by myself today as the parents hadn't got back yet. It was really windy and I was so slow today. Knee felt a little funny in the water.
After lunch the tide had gone right out and we were getting surf into the bay which is exceptionally rare so we were all out attempting to catch the waves. Awesome fun.

Walk 5:00:00 [3]
shoes: Inov-8 Flyroc 310

Over to Anchor Bay then bashing round Mystery Walk B then back via the beach (checking out the bays round the rocks as well) and Westend. Very entertaining to be bashing round in the bush and then emerge onto one of the main tracks right in front of your average walker. They then proceed to walk away from you as fast as possible! Scrambling up from the coast was also entertaining. There is a rope the ranger has added but I still almost ended up slipping all the way back down again. Then he was cruel and sent you down into a swamp for the final bit. I had dry feet until then. No fair!
6 PM

Swim 15:00 [2]

To the jetty, moorings and the new pirate platform someone had put out with Mum. She made us do press up things on the platform while it was busy lurching in the swell.

MTB 2:20:00 [3]
shoes: Louis Garneau Monte Rosa MTB

Same route as yesterday but round the Tokatu loop track as well. A bit of bike pushing needed on this track! Getting the hang of the hills so I don't end up totally dead at the top each time. Also forming some lovely bruises on my arms from all the bike throwing.
6 PM

Swim 15:00 [2]

To the jetty and round the moorings with Mum. There was quite a bit of swell in the bay today which made heading back from the furthest end quite entertaining. Might have swallowed rather a lot of salt water in the process.

Walk 1:50:00 [2]
shoes: Inov-8 Flyroc 310

Mystery Walk A with Mum. Then added an extension to the end with the ecology trail (and some random bashing around checking some stuff out). So cool that they've set the mystery walks up again.
2 PM

MTB 2:08:00 [3]
shoes: Louis Garneau Monte Rosa MTB

South Coast to the watertanks then down into the valley almost to Anchor Bay then up the North Coast and out to Tokatu Point and back along the South Coast. At the lagoon up Westend and bouncing down the new track and Thompsons loop. Better today. I think this is the best route for a long ride although there were, ummm, 19 fences to throw my bike over. Fun times. Oh, and cows to dodge ('cause they sure aren't going to move for anyone!).
5 PM

Swim 15:00 [2]

Round the moorings with Mum.

Run 1:25:07 [3]
shoes: Inov-8 Flyroc 310

New track up to Westend then down to Anchor Bay, Fishermans trail then back via South Coast. Foot starting feeling a bit sore so had to walk a few bits near the end.
5 PM

Swim 15:00 [2]

With Mum out to the jetty then round the moorings.

MTB 1:15:00 [3]
shoes: Louis Garneau Monte Rosa MTB

South Coast then out to Tokatu Point and back along North Coast. Ridiculously hard going! Not only are the hills fairly steep (fortunately they aren't too high though), the track surface is mostly spongey grass. Thought I was going to die by the time I got to the top of the hill above the lagoon.
3 PM

Walk 1:40:00 [2]
shoes: Inov-8 Flyroc 310

With Mum over to the reserve and on the new track.
5 PM

Swim 10:00 [2]

With Mum out to the jetty then the next mooring and along the beach a bit.

Monday Jan 21, 2013 #

4 PM

Swim 10:00 [2]

Round the moorings with Mum. She was wearing flippers but I could still swim faster than her (just).
9 PM

Walk 50:00 [2]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 7 (blue)

Up the hill to the 'house sites' with Mum. Did a little bit of running to the tops of the hills where I did star jumps waiting for Mum to catch up. Clearly I had far too much energy to burn at this point!
