MTB 3:00:00 [3]
shoes: Louis Garneau Monte Rosa MTB

With Michael up Rapaki, along the traverse and Thompsons tracks, down the nun then down Kennedy's and the crocodile (the new track) and then suffered along the road home behind Michael who was just powering along. Felt absolutely shattered by the time we got home.

With Michael up the cool new track that drops you off partway up the Crocodile then up Kennedy's in the ridiculous heat. Poor Michael had forgotten his drink bottle (even though I had kindly filled it up for him and tried to give it to him several times before we left) so it became poor Katie having to share her 1 bottle. Then we went flying down the nun (see what I did there?) and then cruised down the cool single track on Worsleys. Stopped by home to have some toast and then I went out by myself (whilst Michael lay on the couch recuperating for the boys afternoon road ride) for the Rapaki, traverse, Vic Park, Bowenvale loop. Super speedy but boy was the hill tough going. Need to get in some more longer rides before the summer adventures begin.

Up Hackthorne, Vic Park and Dyers to SOK then along the tops to the Ahuriri Reserve sign, just a bit further along from the 'snail' then back along the road and down Dyers to home. Was keen to do the loop down Gebbes to Governer's Bay but I really really need new rims...the brakes are definitely feeling dodgy. Pretty nervous coming down Dyers but they held out.

In the valley. Feeling tired and ill from too much delicious souvlaki.

Run 1:45:04 [3]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Ascend 6

Up through Vic Park and over onto the Harry Ell then over the tops to Mt Vernon and back down into the valley via the zig zag and Bowenvale downhill and home again. Stomach pains and lots of crap gunk in my throat that just won't go away.

Michael destroyed me on the way up Rapaki and I felt like I was falling apart by the top. Consequently a bit shaky round the traverse. Then it was time to race down through Vic Park but my favourite track was closed due to it being still wet so we had to mostly zip down the 4wd road. My breaking was much better today so didn't skid out of control like last time.

Run 55:01 [3]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Cabrakan 3

The usual Bowenvale valley route although perhaps I cut some corners somewhere or something since it was over 5 minutes faster than when I last did this run in September. It was freezing...going from the 20s last week to single digit Southerlies again is just cruel.
