MTB 2:00:00 [3]
shoes: Louis Garneau Monte Rosa MTB

Amusing ride in the hills with Michael, Emily, Amber, Al and Joe. Up Rapaki and Mt Vernon then along the traverse, up to the Flying Nun and down that then down through Vic Park where we ended up on some rather, um, interesting tracks after being redirected because of the downhill competition that was going on at the same time. Joe is crazy!

From home up the hidden valley and the zig zag to Mt Vernon, along the tops and up Sugar Loaf then down through Vic Park and Bowenvale to home again. The hills are so beautiful.

Up Rapaki, along the traverse and down through Vic Park to Bowenvale and home. After weaving down some nice hairpin single track fun I found the right 4wd track time...not entirely sure how I managed to miss it last time! Tried to hoon down it as fast as possible. Was bumpy, slippery (wet, bare rock is very slippery) and fun. New helmet seemed good. Not perfect but better than my previous one.

Oh yeah, I bet the storm home by only a couple of minutes. Perfect timing. To think it was blue sky until I reached my street! Anyway, from home up the Bowenvale downhill and zig zag (cutting the corners which nearly ended up in a nice face plant to start with) to the top and then straight down the lava flow (12 minutes to valley floor - I want to aim for under 10) then down the valley to home. Feeling pretty good actually which was a relief because I felt quite strange earlier today.
