Run 1:29:15 [3]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Ascend 6

Up through Vic Park, over the tops then down the Zig Zag into Hidden Valley and home. Very wet, cold, slippery and muddy and my hands were totally frozen by the end. On a more positive note, my legs felt pretty good despite the big ride yesterday. Yay! Had originally planned (with fingers crossed that the weather wouldn't be as horrible as forecast) to do a much longer run but the weather made me change my plans. But Michael has promised to drop me off at Halswell to do it another time instead.

Michael dropped me off at the top of Mt Pleasant Rd and I rode along the Greenwood Park and Godley Head tracks out to the end. Then back along the Godley Head track then along the road to the John Britten track which I lost fairly soon after starting so gave up and rode back then down the road and back home again via the valley. Struggled on the Greenwood Park track and it was quite muddy and slippery but the other track was awesome. Quite glad to finally get home again though. Was out of water and food by the end.

Wednesday night run with my Spring Challenge team, Emily and Amber plus Al. From Emily's house up the Valley track (we found a tiny dead lamb and it was very sad) where we met the other guys coming down. Chris joined us and continued up to the top of Mt Vernon with me while the others went round the mtb track. Then down Huntsbury. Quite a cruisey pace, especially up the hill which was probably quite good since I'd spent the day moving heavy boxes.

Up Rapaki, along the tops then down through Vic Park into Bowenvale (mostly via the 4wd track for the middle section). Feeling physically good but quite timid especially 'cause the tracks were a bit slippery.

From our house (yay to be back home again at last) up Bowenvale, attempting to take the downhill MTB track up to the Zig Zag but, because I am super talented, I somehow lost the track and ran through the tussock pretty much all the way to the bottom of the zig zag. I think I thought the track was below me when it was, umm, above me. Oh dear. Anyway, went up to the top of Mt Vernon then my favourite bush tracks, up to the top of Sugar Loaf then down through Vic Park into the valley and then back home. My tummy is doing lots of sort of sloshing/wacking around inside and it's not very nice and means I have to run slower, especially on the downhill. Need to work out quite why it's happening. But I like running in the hills by myself because my head goes quiet for a while.
