Note
(sick)

ARGH! Still too sick to do much but at least I can sit up now and maybe eat (we'll see)! Had to miss orienteering which is making me really grumpy :(

Note
(sick)

Moving day and I was too sick to do anything. Spent the whole day in bed (apart from when I drove from one bed to the next one). No idea what is wrong.

Road Bike 2:30:00 [3]
shoes: Louis Garneau Monte Rosa MTB

From home along the cycleway out to Swanson and then over Scenic Drive and home again. I even rode up Old Mill Road to get home and I'm glad to say that I have been sensible to avoid it every other time. Got to the top in granny gear though. Legs were feeling great riding up Scenic Drive too. Weather was okay until I started going down Scenic Drive (was misty along the top so was a bit wet but not too bad) when it started to pour down with rain. Not so fun so my descent was quite slow. Put my brakes on too hard at a roundabout (kind of forgot that they go rather funny in the wet) and skidded right over which was a little hair-raising but I survived!

Run warm up/down 34:01 [2]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 6

Warmup (17:50) from home through the thick mist along Garnet Rd with a little loop at the shops then back along and down to Seddon fields. Warmdown (16:11) from the fields round the lake with all the little detours then up the hill to home which was about the time I felt real tired!

Run intervals 22:00 [4]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 6

4 x 4min intervals with 2 min recoveries at the Seddon fields. Pretty dark and misty to start with then just misty which was pretty cool. Felt okay so probably could have gone faster but I wasn't sure what speed I could hold for 4 minutes. Got some nice mud splatters.

Note

Lots of walking (to work and then home again via a nice long detour through a whole lot of parks and the supermarket). Good for clearing the head and trying to relax.

Climbing (indoor - TR) 30:00 [3]
shoes: Five Ten Anasazi Verde

Not a fun night. But I did make it up a tough overhang.

Run 43:58 [2]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 6

From home round a few of the usual tracks then up West End Road and back down some other road which fortunately took me back to Richmond Rd (I didn't know where it went and was hoping it wasn't one of the annoyingly long dead end streets), then back up the hill to home. It was wet and I didn't realise I had left my glasses on until I was halfway down the track to the lake and couldn't be bothered going back up because the weather wasn't too bad at that stage. But not long after that it started raining quite hard and I couldn't see and then they fogged up and it was just plain silly. Then when it got dark it was even worse because the lights of the cars got magnified by the big drops of water on my lenses and blinded me! Bugger. Anyway, other than that it was quite a nice run and I felt rather good!
