Note
(rest day)

I think my foot survived okay although it doesn't feel super (more tired and achey though...not really sore or anything). Got way more blisters than usual too 'cause my feet have gone all soft from all this cycling.

Orienteering race (Great Forest Rogaine) 8:03:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Trabuco IX WR

8-hr rogaine with Michael. The map was pretty daunting and I really had no idea what my foot was going to capable of doing. We ended up mostly sticking to the tracks after discovering the bush was, um, quite thick in most places which was pretty tedious at the pace I was going (man I feel so slow and unfit!). Started to feel pretty ill maybe about an hour into the race which was a frustrating start (I don't think I'd drunk enough earlier in the day) and that lasted for a few hours which really sucked. Then once I started to feel better my feet were hurting which wasn't really surprising considering how little I've been using them lately. It's like they've gone all soft! And then it got dark and I got moody and stubborn and even more sore. I don't know how Michael put up with me!

Ooo, look how colourful my log for the last week is! It's like a rainbow!

6 PM

Orienteering race (SS - Hamlins Hill ) 45:18 [3] 4.5 km (10:04 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 6

I can't orienteer my way out of a paperbag! My head was thinking about my foot the whole time instead...which survived okay. Felt hopelessly unfit and slow though.

Note

The foot is all fine this morning which is good. Also went to see the breathing specialist today. Fun times.
6 AM

Road Bike 30:00 [3]
shoes: Louis Garneau Revo XR

To and from the gym. On the way home I got nearly every conceivable red light (and there are SO many). ARGH!!!

Gym (arm weights and core) 30:00 [3]

Every man and his dog wanted to chat to me today (okay, slight exaggeration...no dogs) which drove me insane since I had limited time and had to get out earlier than usual.

Road Bike 30:00 [3]
shoes: Louis Garneau Revo XR

To and from the gym. There was a cold breeze this morning that froze the tips of my fingers on the way there. Somehow knocked my back light off on the way home which is a bummer 'cause it was a good light.
6 AM

Peloton (Spin) class intervals 45:00 [5]
shoes: Louis Garneau Revo XR

Tania was taking the class this morning. Real tough. First time standing up in a while too (it was fine). I think you kind of have to for her classes to get the most out of it.
6 PM

Walk warm up/down 24:00 [2]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 6

10 minutes before, 14 minutes after. Down to the lake and partway round as a warmup and then back from the school field via the lake and up through the illegal mtb tracks (with a bit of bush bashing) to get home again which was really quite fun!

Run 10:00 [2]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 6

Ooo, now isn't this exciting! I haven't run in 6 weeks! Well, apart from my legs feeling like they'd been doing a lot of hard cycling (funny that) so therefore thighs like dead bits of wood, it was okay. Foot felt alright but was a bit hot afterwards (although that could be because my other foot was cold so I was wearing slippers). Just ran on the grass next to the lake and then over and round some random school field across from the zoo. Iced up afterwards. No problems. Yay!
