MTB race (MTBO - Rogaine) 2:00:00 [3]
shoes: Louis Garneau Monte Rosa MTB

Got in with 6 seconds to spare! Anyway, rode heaps better but felt sore all over from yesterday's fall. Didn't plan very well at all and did heaps of backtracking and going along trails and roads I'd already covered. Could have done a heap more I reckon if I'd planned with a bit more confidence. Did ride up to some 100 pointer and came down some scary track (Corners?) where I actually rode a good half of it which was brave for me! Got so much mud in my cleats near the end that I couldn't clip in my left foot so the mad rush back to the finish felt a bit hairy on the gravel.

MTB race (MTBO) 1:50:59 [3]
shoes: Louis Garneau Monte Rosa MTB

Bet Owen by 1 second! Hmmm...not very good. I rode terribly, got hopelessly lost (like pretty much everyone else by the sounds of it) from #1 to #2 in the maze and in my attempt to get out to the road and try from the other side I ended up stumbling on it. Took the wrong road from #3 but realised fairly quickly. Took the single track to fix it 'cause that seemed more fun than biking back up the hill again. The somewhere nearish the end I came off in some mud puddle and landed real hard and it wasn't nice. Bike sounded a bit weird after that too. Probably lost about 10 minutes stuffing around on the ground there! Was glad to finish!

Run (treadmill) 40:00 [4]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 5

20 minutes upping the speed every 5 minutes starting at 12. Felt quite good. Then 20 minutes using the hills setting. I meant to put it on random but pressed the wrong button and didn't realise until a few minutes in when it wasn't what I expected. Just decided to go with it but it sucked more than random does.

This was probably not as easy as I should have made it since it is supposed to be an easy week but treadmill is boring and I still couldn't face a run in the rain because I'm feeling soft! I probably looked like I'd been running in the rain afterwards though 'cause the only treadmill left when I started didn't seem to get any fan and I sweat so much.

Gym (leg weights and stretches) 30:00 [3]

1 set of the single legs thing and my stair jumps. My tummy started hurting by then...feels like it's trying to stab me from the inside.

Run 33:23 [3]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 5

Round the outer roads in the Domain a couple of times. It was warmer than I thought it would be and also lighter. Feeling just okay.

Gym (arm weights and core) 25:00 [3]

Note
(rest day)

Ooo, a sleepin even (7:30...although I got woken up by a text just before 6am from Simon asking if I was training this morning. I promptly fell back asleep). My flatmates wondered if everything was okay. Is it concerning that if they see me in the morning they think something is wrong?

Peloton (Spin) class intervals 45:00 [5]
shoes: Louis Garneau Monte Rosa MTB

I felt like going all out plus I was in a good mood. Could feel my legs from yesterday's ride but I'm getting much better at pushing through and pushing harder. Good times.

Run (treadmill) 20:00 [4]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 4

Despite my legs feeling exhausted I thought I'd give the treadmill thing a go. Started at 12.5 and upped it by every 5 minutes. Had to have a little break at 15 minutes before pushing hard on the last 5 minutes (15 for the last minute).

Note

Rest/gentle days for the rest of this week (bar the weekend of mtbo).

Climbing (indoor - TR) 2:00:00 [3]
shoes: Red Chili Spirit Lady

At Extreme Edge with Chris. For not having climbed in 2 months and not much before that since last year we rocked! Actually, it was quite surprising and we both had a lot more confidence (and less fear of falling...which happened a fair amount) than usual. Matt makes good climbs...whoever Matt is. We managed a heap of 18s and a couple of 19s and could probably have tackled the odd 20 but we were both exhausted by then (struggling up the really big 16 as a warm down was hard enough!). My finger wasn't too bad, just slightly uncomfortable near the end.
