Orienteering race (Auckland Champs - Long) 1:17:11 [4] 6.5 km (11:52 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 285

Whites Line. Totally overran #1 (great start!), made a stupid error at #2 and wasn't careful enough at #4 so spent too much time in the general area but not quite close enough. Most of the rest was pretty good but it was quite rough underfoot. Need to work on compass stuff.

MTB (mtb) 1:45:00 [3]
shoes: Skulls

Round the bike park after the orienteering. Went on some tracks I haven't done in ages which was cool fun. I surprised myself with what I managed to do...confidence definitely improving. Exhausted afterwards though!

Run warm up/down 10:00 [2]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 4

Orienteering race (Auckland Champs - Sprint) 21:32 [4] 2.2 km (9:47 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 4

Massy Campus. Started out pretty slow and sluggish but navigation was pretty easy. Then made a stupid mistake crossing the field on the wrong angle and had to backtrack. Spent too much time on the indistinct track wondering if I was still on it so I reckon it was probably faster to take the longer, more distinct track along the top.

Orienteering race (Auckland Champs - Middle) 1:36:01 [3] 4.3 km (22:20 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 285

Beautiful Hills. Stuffed up #2 along with most of our grade (ended up a party of 4!). They tore off but there wasn't any way I was gonna try and keep up. Went pretty steady until I bombed out in the low vis at the end - #14, #15 and #17! Argh!!! Was tough work out there physically and mentally.

Run 36:44 [2]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 4

Round the outer dirt track of OTH. Really hate all the new fence crossings. Felt pretty shit and stiff (stiffness eased a bit as I ran though) and my arm is hurting. Good I got out though.

Run 35:26 [2]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 5

From the gym down through Parnell and back up then round the outer domain track. Quite humid out even for first thing in the morning probably because of all the cloud cover.

Gym (weights and core) 1:00:00 [3]

Mostly arms, abs and lots of stretches on the new program. Don't think wrist was particularly impressed so had weights low. The bandage definitely helps though.

Note

Bad day and came home feeling crap plus Jan was feeling unmotivated so we both piked on going to the night orienteering and went grocery shopping instead! Felt lazy which is a bit stupid really...

Run 29:25 [2] 5.8 km (5:04 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 5

Took the new shoes out for a little cruise from the gym down to Parnell and back up through the Domain. Nice that it's getting lighter in the mornings.

Gym 30:00 [3]

No weights 'cause I'm saving the wrist for climbing tonight so it was kinda boring.

Climbing 3:00:00 [3]

Hard hard work but finally conquered the yellow side of the crazy new wall. Unfortunately my wrist hated me after that so struggled on the later climbs. Had too many where I got almost to the top (i.e. on the last hand hold before the top metal bar) but hurt way too much to make that final push. Grrrrr... The bandage thingy definitely did help though but I felt like a bit of a freak especially since I had to tape the knuckles on both hands too 'cause they both started bleeding. I must have thin skin or something...

Peloton (Spin) class intervals 45:00 [4]
shoes: Louis Garneau Monte Rosa MTB

I don't think it was that tough but I wasn't feeling that great so it felt stupidly hard. Wrist a bit achey but not too bad.
