From the hotel round Queenstown Gardens (several times) and back. Cruisey 'cause I almost couldn't be bothered getting up! The view gets me every time...the mountains are like a painting so I tend to forget I'm out running! Couldn't find the strapping tape (I've lost it twice already here) so had to manage without but the ankle was okay...just real tender.

Hiked up Queenstown Hill in the morning from the hotel. The view, as expected, was spectacular and I worked up quite a sweat! A great way to start the day before work (although I wrangled an 11am start today which was good since I didn't wake up in time to get going as early as I'd wanted).

I had trouble getting up this morning which meant I got out later than planned. Ended up being a good thing as it was light enough to have a quiet run along the lake-edge and round the track leading to Sunshine Bay. As usual I wasn?t going to turn back until I actually got to this bay, no matter how far away it was?luckily it wasn?t too far! The ankle was a bit sore and hot and I was slow but hey, the view was amazing so going slow meant I could enjoy it more. Queenstown is paradise!

I had the afternoon off so took Mike?s suggestion and walked up to the top of Skyline hill where the gondolas go to. It was one steep, windy trek up that hill in the blistering afternoon heat but the view from the top is truly stunning. On the way back down I detoured round One Mile Creek track.
