Orienteering race (Chasing Start - Waihora) 58:01 [4] **** 5.2 km (11:09 / km)
(injured) shoes: Jalas Black FLX

I was on of the early starters in a large pack with people 1 second ahead, 4 seconds behind etc. This kind of thing makes me even more anxious than the usual starts so I instantly started making mistakes and not thinking clearly. After getting it back together for a few controls I managed to completely disorient myself on #7 before finally clicking and finishing the rest of the course off pretty well. The ankle wasn't too happy with all that uneven ground but Mark Lawson is the man at teaching you how to strap your ankle so I survived!

Orienteering race (Middle Distance - Airport) 33:01 [4] **** 4.1 km (8:03 / km)
shoes: Jalas Black FLX

It was so hot out there that to start with I could barely get my legs turning over. Navigation was easy and apart from falling into a mess of blackberries when I went the wrong way round a hill to get to the control I navigated well.

Orienteering race (Katoa Po - Night Relays) 50:54 [2] **** 3.5 km (14:33 / km)
(injured) shoes: Jalas Black FLX

An easy course (hell, I even had fences...this was my lucky night!) but after rolling my ankle coming out of #2 and wondering if I was going to be able to stand up on it, let alone continue running, it was a very slow and frustrating race. I was managing a slow, rather unco jog by the time I got to the finish though. I've never liked night relays (not liking the dark for a start) so this didn't exactly help my opinion of them!

Climbing 1:45:00 [2]

I was pretty down so it wasn't a good climbing night although I managed to get myself up a couple of okay climbs at the end as well as some decent smearing practice. Generally not doing so well which is not very good. Hopefully I can get through the Waitangi orienteering okay.

Rowing Machine warm up/down 5:05 [4] 1.1 km (4:37 / km)

Gym (Weights and Stretches) 55:00 [3]

The fastest I've ever got through this programme (although I did miss a couple of things out). Too much to do today!

Orienteering (SS Alexander Park) 50:30 [2]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 3

Following Jono round course 2 (I was better at keeping my mouth shut this time!). I had to stop and walk to a few when my shins decided to start feeling uncomfortable. So frustrating as they had felt really good at physio today.

Run 30:00 [2]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 3

Round Coxs Bay Reserve and neighbouring streets. Both Jono and I felt smashed (him literally after touch) so we were pretty slow and dying although strangely feeling much better and less in pain afterwards.
