Orienteering race (Shanks Pony score event) 55:58 [3] ***
shoes: Asics Gel Trabuco IX WR

Never done a score event before (apart from the YODA street ones we made in Dunedin). I was way to cautious with how many I planned for so ended up dithering near the end wondering whether to go further out and get some more or not. Got 53 points which was okay I guess. I didn't exactly push myself in the second half. I need O shoes! Hopefully they are arriving soon.

Run long 1:30:00 [2] 15.2 km (5:55 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel 2120

Felt pretty good today and thought about going further but thought I better save something for the score event tomorrow!

Rowing Machine 9:37 [4] 2.0 km (4:49 / km)

After a shocking start I really made a comeback in the last 800 metres which was truly cool. Actually rowing isn't so awful afterall!

Gym (Weights for Arms) 50:00 [4]

All good today although the pull ups machine is pretty tough especially using the middle handgrips on the harder weight. Maybe I was just feeling more confident about myself today.

Run 56:00 [2] 9.35 km (5:59 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel 2120

Nice and gentle this morning. My ankles still look funny from skating last night, like they are too narrow, but not as bad as last night!

Run long (Ponsonby) 1:30:00 [2] 15.42 km (5:50 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel 2120

It was possibly even quicker than that time since I spent time standing around at traffic lights and going to the toilet half way round! Felt great, confident. What a relief after how I felt on Monday morning. Arm muscles are feeling shot though.

Ice Skating 2:00:00 [4]

T pushes tonight! Sounds silly but it wasn't until the coach told me I needed all my weight on the inside edge of my pushing foot that I actually got it. Straight lines are not so good but I was really beginning to master the T push on a curve. Plus I was feeling confident and well balanced on the ice tonight. I could have stayed much longer if I didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn for work the next day.

Rowing Machine 9:23 [4] 2.0 km (4:42 / km)

Brilliant!! How did I manage that? Perhaps having the physio hanging over my shoulder egging me on was part of it. My form is getting better.

Gym (Weights for Arms) 50:00 [4]

Increased some weights (the preacher bench a very notable increase which was cool) as well as a new exercise on the swiss ball. Physio worked with me on exercises to try and correct the movement that I've been doing when running on my left shoulder since the accident which has been causing me all sorts of pains.

Run 45:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Gel 2120

Felt pretty crap when I got up this morning so cut the run down a bit. I felt okay out there but was impressed I let myself cut the run shorter.
