A slightly shorter loop through the Domain since the bush tracks are starting to get too dark with Ayr Street thrown in through the middle of the run. As usual Jono powered ahead up that but I wasn't too far behind I guess. Felt icy this morning so I was glad of the long pants I'd got.

An after work dash out to Snowplanet with Jono to use up our 2 for 1 vouchers before the end of the month! Much improvement on Saturday but I got really cold otherwise we would have been out on the snow longer instead of drinking coffee in the cafe!

Looking at bikes with Mark. Finally found one...yay. But have to wait for a couple of weeks before I can pick it up. Jono picked the same one so we'll have to customise them so we don't look like twins!

Round some of the red and blue tracks in Woodhill with Jono trying out the Avanti soft tail test bikes. They cushion your ride heaps! I want one!! Anyway, I've definatly got more confidence and control but a long way to go yet.

Got the last bike...right in front of the instructor. Damn, no slacking off! Pushed it hard especially on the sprints...thought my lungs were going to explode! Naturally they didn't and I was fine but it was interesting.

Had my skates sharpened so it was like sliding across the ice with no control (to hell with stopping!). Couldn't do that much except attempt to blunt them down a little (always strikes me as weird that when your blades get too blunt you have to get them sharpened (okay, that makes sense) but then once they're sharpened you have to blunt them a bit before you can use them properly). Didn't help that I missed the warmup while the guy at the workshop was looking for my skates.

Early morning with Jono round the Domain with an extra loop coming up Ayr Street...been a while since I've run up there. Ankle felt a bit weak but nothing too bad. Slow on hills but feeling a bit stronger. It's a bummer the mornings are getting darker since we're gonna have to find some new routes with the forest getting a little dark these days.

I was feeling decidedly ill last night so nice to be in the land of the living again this morning.

Not that tricky but pretty physical. Felt quite dizzy and tired out there today. Crossed the wrong branch of a stream at one point and got stuck!

SO good! Could feel an easing of those aching muscles in my neck and ribs. Still painful but a lot better.

Run to gym in the mist. Don't even ask what time of the morning this was. I was moving fairly fast as K'Rd and Grafton are not exactly the most friendliest of places. Biked home while Jono ran but that was cruisy.

A bit uncomfortable on my shoulders but otherwise I didn't feel too bad.

Note

My neck, shoulders and rib cage still hurt a lot but nothing seems to be too bad. I just can't laugh 'cause that's too painful!

Through the Domain with Jono as per usual with the shorter route home. Feeling stiff probably from yesterday's spin.

After a really hard fall early in class I was taking it easy. Feeling bruised, pretty sore and real shaky but hey, I'm in one piece this time (at least I think I am)! We didn't really stay on afterwards as Jono wanted to try on figure skates.

Score event at Woodhill. Pretty shocking navigation on 3 of them including the one I had to drop since I'd gone too far off course somehow. It was nice out in the forest though but feeling pretty lightheaded.

First class of the term. Considering I hadn't been for a couple of weeks I felt remarkably confident. New coach taking the warm up which had us stipping layers within minutes!

Round the Domain the opposite direction (now THAT was a first believe it or not...Jono's idea and I can't believe I'd never really thought of it!) and then back via some weird detour. Felt good this morning and no niggles anywhere. Just still slow...but not as slow as before.
