A good, but slow, run. I did the easier route up and through Newmarket. Up Ayr Street was a breeze so that was good. It finally wasn't so cold which made getting started easier!

Ahh, good fun, orienteering in the rain. Stuffed up controls 9 and 10...I hate the coastal strip! I was just generally all round at a slow pace it was a bit more steady than usual and my navigation was a whole lot better (either that or the course was easier than usual).

It was such a lovely morning outside when I finally decided to get out of bed, and so good to be running in the daylight. Bits of the Domain were pretty muddy and slippery but hey, it's still better than the road. The final run up Bassett Road nearly had me though.

Walked round the shoreline and up into Parnell (by then covered with mud especially after having to scale the bank!) with my flatmate to have a break from 'that book'. We passed the chocolate boutique on the way home but neither of us had any money but it was so tempting we came back later (once I'd finished 'that book' of course)!

To the gym and back. Having just got out of bed on rather limited sleep, running straight out my driveway with my camelbak on and up Shera Road felt like torture! That is one steep hill!

A very quiet time to come to the gym early in the morning. Was quite peaceful. Added some challenge to my programme as suggested by one of the staff which made things a little more interesting.

This was supposed to be a short run...until I took a wrong turn and didn't properly figure it out until it was too late so I ended up down by the onramps to the motorway 'cause I had no idea where I was (yet again in the dark so I had even less of a clue...but I could see the Sky Tower!). Ended up having to run up through the Domain in the dark (although it was getting lighter by then) to get back as quick as possible. Why did it have to be a morning when everything was planned to a tight schedule?!

First class for the term. Definately seeing improvements. Really big bunch of plebs at the public session afterwards though cutting up the ice in no time which sucked 'cause I was in the groove. Hard to practice when they bowl straight into you.

Went out thinking it wasn't raining...I was wrong! Got wet but it wasn't too bad and I'd dressed a bit too warmly so it cooled me down. Put in some good sprints near the end. It was nice to see a little bit of light in the sky that early in the morning for once! Bring on summer...!

I increased a couple of weights which made parts of the workout a killer but hey, you don't get stronger without pushing yourself a bit. Lost motivation about halfway through. Would much rather be outside.

The views along the walkway were stunning especially on such a calm day. Mum had wanted to walk from the Plaza back to their house and I wanted a run so I ran halfway then back to meet her then ran to the end and back. Running with the cambelbak takes some getting used to...just that little bit of extra weight and I'm all over the place!

My original partner ended up being sick so was in a team with Craig and Nicola, who was injured so we mostly walked. Kind of frustrating as I'd been looking forward to stretching my legs a bit. Also not fun ending up waist deep in freezing water...actually, that did end up being kind of fun! Oh well, at least I got to get out there.

Had to go to a public session since there's no skate school through the holidays but it was fairly quiet so had a good time attempting to improve the odd skill. It's a bit harder in the dark with flashing lights though!

Probably the easiest 5km row I've done so far. Felt pretty comfortable all the way through.

Better than the last event...but not by much! Felt wet and miserable about halfway round when, again, I struggled to orienteer my way out of a paperbag. Next time...!!
