Awesome class. It felt shorter than I was prepared for so I still had a little more in stock for the final section so pushed it pretty hard on the last "hill".

Climbing with Debs, Dalen and Andy. I wore Andy's old shoes tonight and it made a real difference but boy do your feet hurt when you get down off the wall! Those shoes are like some old fashioned sort of torture!

Lots of out of control people on the ice after class so practicing was a mindfield of near collisions. Otherwise a rather uneventful class.

They did a shody job of the ice which really sucked. After a fairly shaky start where I almost went crashing over in my first step (I blame the ice!) things improved. Backwards edges are getting much steadier.

Rode to and from gym as well as looping through the Domain. Apart from my lame pushing of the bike up Ayr Street I think I am improving (well, that wouldn't exactly be hard considering how crap I am!).

I just wandered round the memory course. Never done one before so it was really fun. But since I was going so slow I had plenty of time to think about where I was going so didn't have any problems. It was such a lovely evening.

Stress!! First Merv realised he'd forgotten to pick up all the controls so we were missing half the Cs, then the caravan was late with the tape to relabel controls, then people had started before I'd managed to put out the missing controls. Yeah, pushed my leg too much trying to get everything out fast enough. So good to sit down afterwards. I'm just so glad people liked the courses after all that!

Cruising round being Jono's "support crew" as he attempted his first long(ish) run. I just wanted to be running but hey, we'll get there.

My backwards edges are finally getting better. Getting bruises on my right ankle from having to lace the boots up so damn tight round the top so my ankle doesn't collapse inwards too much. Doesn't hurt until I take the boots off!

Not my night. Wasn't really feeling the best and my feet hurt heaps for some reason. Perhaps it was because I wasn't wearing my usual socks so perhaps they were a bit colder than normal?

Took the bike out for my first ride in, well, years. I can't even remember the last time I rode a bike actually. It was pretty cool but I am sticking to the flat. Walked the bike up Ayr Street so I could cruise through the Domain though. I must have been freaked the whole ride 'cause I noticed my hands were clutching the handlebars with a death grip and I was shaking when I finally got back to the flat!

Argh! Re-learning to ride a bike...they say you don't forget how to ride a bike but it took me ages to work out how to get on (and not fall off...it has been YEARS since I ever rode!). Yeah, so now I'm covered in numerous cuts, scrapes and bruises. I'm sure Jono had a great old laugh watching me.

It was so awesome to be back on the ice (yeah, I know it's only been a week and a half but I really missed it). Because of the weight of the boot it slightly pulls on my left shin but not as bad as I had kind of feared.

I hadn't been able to convince Jono to do the 13km one so we settled on the 5km. Lucky in the end really 'cause my calf muscle still hates me. It was a pretty gentle race really 'cause I just ran at a fairly cruisey pace (even if bits of me weren't so sure about that!) and the climb wasn't nearly what I had imagined.
Jono enjoyed it too so hmmm, what shall I challenge him to next?!
