Third cyclocross race. Funtimes! Actually felt like I was racing this time because the course wasn't crazy technical and I wasn't spending all the time just getting my feet in and out of the pedals! Finished in 8th out of 21, 3 min back from the winner in the women's singlespeed division, 2 min back from 2nd.
We brought Sylvia so she could take notes on the little tykes with bikes on the Kiddiecross course. She played a bunch on her in-house quadcycle afterwards, woo! But her legs are still too short to give the outdoor pedal-less bike a try...
After STEMGems brunch at Lewis & Clark, went for an easy run around the Riverview trails, since I was right there. They were gorgeous and much, much, much drier than last time I went. I succeeded in running 3 miles in my Toms (forgot actual running shoes), while last time I fell several times in trail shoes, slipping around.
Little lunch joggeroo. Trying to cautiously come back from the great sore throat illness. Breathed through my nose the whole time so as to irritate the throat less and took it super-duper easy. Nice to get out on a nice fall day!
Last day of lab! I have learned *so* much electronics this semester. Hopefully my students have too... just last set of 21 lab reports to grade and I am much more free!!
Also lectured on the Horizon Problem and Flatness Problem of our Universe and why they point to inflation today. Always piques the curiosity...
Ok, mission this week:
- get better from cold/upper respiratory tract infection
- go to Pilates at least once, hopefully twice
- run at least twice during the work week (after throat feels better)
- circuits Fri

Got to Pilates because Andrew's turn at lab lecture, so no need to rehearse during lunch! Circuits that intentionally saturate OpAmps this week...
Had to leave early to eat a smidge of lunch though. Good to do and unlike the last Fri's circuits and Sat's cyclocross race, don't think it hurt the throat.
