Yay! Got to go orienteering! A CROC training at Columbia Park, put on by Abra who also babysat Sylvia during the event.

Training was a mass-start sprint. I jogged at a very slow pace for the first 28 min, then decided walking the final bit was a better idea. Was such great fun being out there. But, do have to report that Tom beat me for the very first time in an orienteering meet...

Afterwards, we adjourned to Ikea for meatballs and acquired a mobile for Sylvia which she's now enjoying!

Woooo! Got cleared to give running a try by my midwife! But of course supposed to ease into it and listen to my body. So took it very easy, jogged one minute, walked two. Felt ok, if strange after so long!

Otherwise do have the abs-split phenomenon of diastasis recti, but apparently not badly. So just should keep up the exercises I'm doing. That's the last scheduled appointment I have, but the baton passes to Sylvia who has lots of appointments through this year for check-ups and vaccines.

In at early-o'clock again, this time in the pouring rain (and dark). But got the super-elliptical for a warmup, then two 5 min intervals on the stairmill and 2 on the normal elliptical.

Better than average sleep! Fed Sylvia at 9pm, 2am and 6am. She was stilil making lots of baby-sleep-noise after 6am though, so I quit sleep, informed Tom he was in charge and went to the gym.

Nice workout on the super-elliptical and exercise bike. Only one other person the whole time - is fall break after all.

Mom + Baby yoga. Sylvia didn't sleep through this week's, but was mostly content enough for me to yoga. Did have interruptions for a feed and a change though.

Finally, back on the elliptical! But super-hurried session to finish in time to meet colleagues to evaluate a new lab for the spring. It was strange to be away from Sylvia for 4 hours. Also: scotch tape has interesting electron-affinity properties and paper is polarizable.

1-2-3-4-3-2-1 minute pyramid with half as much rest as 'on'.

Core rehab. Boo! I really wanted to elliptical today, but it's fall break at Reed, so the gym was closed for the weekend.
