XC skiing 1:21:57 [2] 13.8 mi (5:56 / mi) +388m 5:28 / mi

And the rain left and kinda froze overnight making awesomely fast (Eastern) conditions. Funny to hear people complaining about it in the lodge, my tired legs were totally fans of how fast it was!

Morning skate ski, exploring the trails at Mt. Bachelor nordic. Strange vibe for me to share the huge parking lot with the alpine folks, but suppose it really was just a normal nordic center after that. And less pricey than some eastern big places for a day pass - $17. Trapps is currently $25.

I skied one of the outer loops that wasn't even groomed and it was totally fine. Nice to have a bit of less-crowded skiing!

Looking at the map after my morning ski, I realized I had never gotten to ZigZag, so went and did that twice on classic skis. KR 70 was still kicking, somewhat surprisingly, although I'm sure it would have abraded completely off in not too much longer...

Smith Rock running! Ran all over the darn thing. Smith Rock is apparently a climbing mecca of the Northwest. Even today, a rainy, wet winter day some climbers were out. And tons of chalk marks all over the cliff. Just amazing scenery the whole time, between the rock and the river.

Up to the top twice, then some more exploring of trails as hiking friends came back in.

Yay skiing! Most of the crew headed out downhill skiing at Mt. Bachelor, Kate and I opted for cross-country and chose to check out Meissner instead of Mt. Bachelor itself. They didn't have tons groomed, but there was a good 1.75 mile out-and-back with totally fine cover, so did lots of that.

The snow was fresh, but ~32 degrees. KR70 worked like a charm!

And an afternoon putter around skate skiing! Soooo pretty out. Sun and snow and views of mountains.

A beautiful (dry!) day, so decided I should rollerski. But then the lunch running group was also going out, so I just rollerskied a bit first, then headed over to the gym.
