Running 34:00 [1]

Little run in the eve from home- just Iffley Lock loop from Donnington Bridge.

Saturday Jun 27, 2009 #

Cycling 40:00 [1]

Afternoon cycle- just the quick loop- Garsington-Wheatley-Horspath, but including 2 good hills! Legs a bit tired from yesterday!

Running warm up/down 25:37 [2]

Warm up/down to/from lab/South Parks. Sticky humid day.

Running hills 5:00 [5]

Having read this article this morning, put in some 30 second efforts, hoping they're helpful... Not sure it hurt enough. Hard to build up lactic in such a short time- maybe I'm not powerful enough yet.

Running 10:00 [1]

About a min jog down the hill after each interval.

Cycling 1:50:00 [1]

House to Pangbourne College. Got almost entirely there the way I planned (including a loooong stretch of single track road over the Chilterns- a lady pulled over in her car so I could pass going up the major hill and actually congratulated me on my effort!) and messed up just heading out of Pangbourne on the wrong road.

Orienteering 25:13 [3] *** 3.0 km (8:24 / km)
16c

Little BKO evening event around Pangbourne College. Thrown by number 2 blatantly being in an unmarked depression instead of the nice big pit that was actually the correct place. I was tired tired tired!

Cycling 15:00 [3]

Pangbourne to Reading after realizing I had missed the last train to Oxford (due to engineering works). Boo. Drafting behind SGB.

Running warm up/down 38:00 [1]

Warm up from lab to South Parks, through Uni Parks, Mesopotamia, HH Park. Then recovery between hill reps, and warm down back to lab...

Running hills 15:00 [5]

Time to start putting the work in again! Hill reps.
6 x (2 min up, 30 sec down)

2 min is about as long as a real hill is possible at south parks.

Felt ok, but breathing is still not normal from illness or hayfever, not sure which. Still, I'm not having my outright asthma attacks of last summer, so not as bad as that!

Running 39:30 [1]

Pre-circuits loop, not too aggressively, achilles are touchy from the terrain running over the weekend. Plus a jog around the fields til Blanka showed up.

Strength 54:00 [1]

Circuits plus numbers, outside in the stickiness! Was quite warm. Guest appearance from Ed- another person who actually attempted their numbers, which is much more than most these days... =)
