More puttering around the flood plain.

Yesterday's run was not catastrophic, but it certainly did the leg no favors. I'll run Friday because I always feel bad if I haven't run the day before a race. That might be it, though.

Electric Duck. Felt terrible. Kind of like when you switch from the bike to run in a Duathlon. Which, I guess, is not surprising seeing as I've gone 10 days without running but have ridden (and done the elliptical). Anyway, I was pretty surprised by the time; it felt much slower than that so I guess my fitness hasn't fallen too far off.

There were some weak signals of distress coming from the right ankle. Nothing problematic, but indicative of less than full recovery. How it feels over the next two days will be telling. Plan is to ride tomorrow and get in another quality workout on the elliptical on Monday. Just easy jogs after that.

Right leg felt OK today. Which means that today was NOT the day to start running again since that would merely present the opportunity to "test" it and we'd be right back where we were 3 weeks ago.

Meanwhile, the left knee has made it clear that any real pressure on the pedals will result in a work stoppage. Despite Missouri's Right to Work laws, the knee is not easily replaced, so I took this threat seriously.

Which is a long way of saying I just spun the 58 on the flood plain.

The elliptical seems to be the ticket. No complaints from either the knee or the leg. Two significant drawbacks: the only elliptical have access to is as UMSL and it's boring as hell.
