Terrain (Woods) 10:00 [2]

With David off at Planet Adventure, I didn't bother with much of a warmup.

Orienteering race (Woods) 1:06:21 [4] *** 6.3 km (10:32 / km) +250m 8:47 / km
11c

SLOC red course at Beaumont (1:15). Brutal even by Beaumont standards. Boom on 2, bad route to 7 (which was misplaced), boom on 8. I was obviously right to skip the Pig - my technique sucks right now.

Then I decided to try sweeping the scout course. Probably could have if my form was on (and I hadn't already raced), but as it was, I had to cut off some controls to get back in an hour.

Control pickup. Was pretty tired by the end.

In to work.

Cycling (Road) 2:16:00 [3]

Back home via north county and then some tempo work on the flood plain followed by some climbs up out of the valley. Hog hollow in 1:40 - fitness isn't as far off as I feared.

In to work.

Cycling (Road) 2:11:00 [2]

Back home via Grant's Trail at a fairly decent clip (though still not really tempo). Was going to go a bit longer, but just as I was leaving the bike path, Kate called to report that Baby-O had done this and advised that if I wanted her to be alive when I got home, that needed to happen sooner rather than later.

Cycling (Road) 52:00 [2]

In to work at 4AM. I was surprised (but not at all upset) to find that the roads had dried off after last night's deluge. Probably because of the gale force wind out of the west. It was so strong I considered big-ringing it and setting a PR in to work, but decided to stick with the program and spun the hell out of the 60.

Cycling (Road) 1:20:00 [2]

Back from work through the hood. No whacko's discharging firearms today.
