Old School Barefoot Loop. Felt fine running, but when I went to wipe the mud off my feet there was the telltale bruise of a stress fracture staring up from my third metatarsal. It will be a week or two before it can be confirmed but, having been down this road twice before, I'm pretty sure that's what it is. Serves me right for letting my weight get too high, I guess - that's pretty much the only time I get overuse injuries.
Hopefully we'll get some decent cycling weather soon so I don't lose too much more fitness. Marathon prep is supposed to start in just 9 weeks and I was wanting to bring a decent base into that. If it is a stress fracture, that training plan will have to be significantly modified.
No doubt my thesis adviser is happy that I won't be running as much.
