Found Expedition Loop (short version of Lost Expedition). Lewis & Clark serpentine, Katy, short route through Lost Valley, and back to the mound on Hamberg. Not particularly hot for June but, given yesterday’s effort, the pace was quite slow.

DRC Wine run: Katy from Dutzow to Treloar and back, then over to Blumenhoff for wine. Ran with John Cash for the easy dozen and the first mile of tempo, which was certainly helpful for dialing in the pace. As he had just run Greenrock last evening, he then dropped off to leave me to finish the firm stuff on my own. So fine!

Powerline out and back.

Been fighting a cold the last few days. Last night it was bad enough that I turned in really early and slept for 11 hours (which is pretty much double how long I usually sleep). Figured an easy jog in the already hot morning might help, but the scheduled tempo workout was clearly out. So, having cost me a Q workout, the sick flag gets turned on.

I don't think it's that bad though. I spent most of the day outside and feel a lot better already.

Home from work. Weather was from the Northeast, so I was running into the front. Temp dropped 20 degrees and it got super windy (I objected to neither of these developments). Rain didn't show up until after the run. We did get a lightening strike on our street while Kate & I were sitting outside on the porch. Probably less than a quarter second between the flash and the bang. That was cool.

The bill did show up today, with the usual St. Louis Summer Surcharge (96F for the run home). Still, was surprised at how manageable it was. Slow, for sure, but not particularly unpleasant. Seems heat acclimation is coming around a bit quicker this year.

Condor on a Cable (long version of Bird on a Wire). Had planned on a legit long run this afternoon, but dropping Yaya off at Jazz camp turned out to be a fairly time-intensive operation. Probably just as well since my legs are still getting used to daily running again.

Probably the swan song for the 481's. Around 700 miles on them, a good portion of that on fairly rugged trail. A bit heavy, but a good deal for an everyday trainer.
