PTOC event at Hodge Park. I think Mike Shifman designed the course.
The park is overgrown by bush honeysuckle and has a dense trail network. It makes for some interesting legs and options.
Chilly (46F) and light rain most of the run. I had some troubles seeing the map. I'm much better at orienteering with rain that I was a few years ago. I miss the old days when my eyes were ok and I loved running in the rain.
One control wasn't in the right spot or there was something screwy with the map (or both?). From my GPS track it looks like I spent 4:30 looking around before I found the flag. I wasn't moving quickly and got a little cold at that point. Fortunately, I warmed up quickly once I got moving.
Lots of fun. I think this was only the 3rd time I've orienteered there (once about 5-6 years ago and one night event).
