PTOC at Lake Jacomo East. Mike Shifman set the courses. Fun and tough.
My navigation was ok. I had a control or two where I was a little uncertain as I approached. More O' technique or races would get rid of that little rusty feeling. I lost a couple of minutes on one control. Overall, my mind was working ok for navigating.
I struggled to move well. Some of that is the rough forest - thorns, some stony areas, some thick woods, etc. But most of it was just not being in good shape to run in the terrain. And some of it was that my mind was racing. I had no push to get through the crap or up hills.
I had a strange fall going downhill out of the first control. I managed to land in a way that hurt both of my upper arms (between elbow and shoulders). It was pretty uncomfortable - just swinging my arms to try to jog. I walked for a couple of minutes and then my arms felt better and I was ok the rest of the course.
On the same leg (1-2) the sole of my old O' shoes started to come off at the front of the foot. When I got home those shoes went straight into the trash.
Fun to see folks and chat a bit (masked and distanced).
