PTOC event at Heartland. Reta was course setter.

This was fun - a nice mix of terrain, plenty of opportunities to run around. The woods were mostly not-too-terrible. Dylan thought it was thorny, but it didn't seem more thorny than most of our terrain.

Plenty of climb and I was not moving well up the hills, especially after being out about 35-40 minutes.

It would have been a good day to hang out and help pick up controls. But our ride was heading back to Lawrence a bit early. So we didn't stay and help pick up controls.

Tom H. ran much faster than me.

Warming up. The bit of wind felt chilly.

Note

The world's largest orienteering map is cool:

Headlamp run on trails on West Campus. I tripped on a root. That was annoying.

Long day at the Audit Forum in KC.

A headlamp jog on West Campus. Nice evening. Cool and clear.

I was thinking about comparing things. One comparison was the similar approaches used by developers seeking tax incentives and hackers trying to phish computer users to install malware.

I went to check out one of the controls from Mary's Thanksgiving course at Clinton.

And I shuffled around on the trails at Clinton State Park. I looked at the map occasionally, but mostly just let my mind wander.

The pace was slow and easy. Time passed quickly.

I was slightly overdressed, but taking off my hat and gloves made things just right. Cool, windy and cloudy today.
