MTB cycling 2:10:00 [1]

MTB on the bike paths (mostly on the Lawrence Loop). Today's ride was something like the Tour of Flooding. The Baker Wetlands looked full, but not flooded. Burcham Park is flooded. Much of the park is under water. I'm guessing it will get worse before it gets better because they are releasing water from Tuttle Creek and Perry. Clinton is full, too. Sanders Mound is now Sanders Island.

I felt ok, but every time I looked at my h.r. it was higher than expected.

Kind of warm, but not too terrible. And not too hot.

MTB cycling 30:00 [1]

Rolled around on the bike paths - enough to break a good sweat and feel like I moved a bit.

This morning my legs felt tired from yesterday, but they felt fine on the bike.

running 15:00 [1]

Jogging around to warm up a bit.

running race 25:19 [4] 4.99 km (5:04 / km)
ahr:166 max:178

NoLaw 5K hosted by Ad Astra.

The temp was ok. It was humid as some rain came through earlier. The sun was out and felt hot. The first 2 miles of the course has a lot of sun.

My pacing was off - too fast in the beginning, then slowed in the last mile or so. I should probably do something to improve on that.

It is kind of depressing that I run so slowly. On the other hand, this was a PR for the course for me (I ran it three times last year).

Fun.

Note

In St Louis. We didn't make it home last night. Debris closed the KC Airport. Today's flights were basically all full. So we're renting a car to drive home. It's kind of frustrating. But, were also lucky the tornado missed our house by a couple of miles, so all is well.

Street orienteering on the OSM + OOM map that I made of the area around Kathleen's home.

Part of the course took me around the Google campus. The area might have made for an interesting sprint map. I also wondered about how busy it would be on a non-holiday. On the holiday the place was empty.

Two observations from my jog : there are a lot of Tesla's and a lot of people seemed way overdressed. I was more than comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt, even just walking, but I saw lots of people in jackets, including insulated jackets (like those Patagonia puff jackets).

My feet were feeling a little sore at the end.
