Ft Leavenworth Adventure Series race. Connie set a course that was shorter than I'd expected, but still a blast.
I started out with street orienteering. Near the end of the street orienteering I did the paint ball control. You had to hit 5 targets. I pictured myself as Dorothea Wierer and planned to pick through the targets quickly. I hit the first three quickly, but then my paint ball rifle was out of paint balls. I switched rifles, but was then a bit off and didn't get the last two nearly as quickly.
The end of the street orienteering was a little compass exercise. You had a couple of compass bearings and distances that brought you to a monument. You had to answer a question based on the monument. The monument is new. I didn't read the information, but it was about the all-female African American postal unit. Here's more info:

Next up was bike orienteering. The course had a couple of interesting route choice options. It went though a section of the map where the roads and bike paths are mapped, but the individual buildings aren't show on the map. The next version of the map will show all of the buildings.
After the bike, I did the puzzle - you went around the corner to a table that had groups of farm animals in rows. You had to memorize a specific row and the go back to another table and recreate the order. My row was a red barn, rabbit, three pigs, a goat, a horse and a sheep. Easy.
Next, I shuffled over to the edge of the lake and got in a kayak and paddled around the lake. We had canoe paddles rather than kayak paddles (i.e. that long stick with a paddle at each end). It was a little awkward to keep shifting sides. After a short loop around the lake...I was done.
Fun. Nice conditions - temp in the low 50s F and a few sprinkles.
Connie had Turkey hotdogs at the finish.
