cycling 30:00 [1]

Biking to/from a new tiny map I'm working on. I did a bit of field checking.

I'm mapping the area at 1:4000 and there are a lot of generalization decisions to make. It might actually be fun to do the same area at 1:1250 (or something like that) where I could show all of the detail that I'm dropping.

orienteering 24:46 intensity: (25 @1) + (31 @2) + (1:13 @3) + (22:37 @4) 4.04 km (6:08 / km)
ahr:162 max:176

PTOC event at Stoll Park/JCCC followed by their annual meeting (quite short) and a potluck (quite good).

Temps were uncomfortable (~93F and some humidity). I thought I started at a pace I could hold for the whole course. I felt ok and than on the way to 10 suddenly felt like I was overheating. I walked a bunch. On the way to 13, I walked some more. I probably pushed a little too hard on the prior controls and when I saw the shade, I went to it and walked a bit.

10-11 Maybe I should have taken the other route option.

running 30:00 [2]

I managed to get in a short jog on West Campus. I hesitated as there are storms around with plenty of lightning. I decided to head out the door and turn around if lighting seemed to be getting closer. It didn't get closer until the last 2-3 minutes of the run.

The storms coming through cooled things off a bit.

Some easy biking.

running 35:00 [2]

Jogging on West Campus, including 4 x Half Ulrik's Hill. I felt pretty good (and was going slowly most of the time).

cycling 1:30:00 [1]

Biking to/from Clinton. I went out on the bike path on Clinton Parkway, but the return trip was via the arboretum and with a few side trips. It rained about half of the ride, but mostly a steady light rain.

My legs felt tired the last 20 minutes.

running 45:00 [2]

Jogging on the trails at Clinton, starting from the beach. I thought the trails would be ok, but was prepared in case they were muddy. It turned out they were ok. I took it pretty easy and enjoyed the run and the steady rain. Fun.
