MTB cycling 2:00:00 [1]

MTB on roads, levee and river trails. Wonderful weather - temp in the low to mid 70s and just a little bit of wind.

I was surprised to see so few people on the river trails. In contrast, there were plenty of people on the levee.

More and more students are back in town. That means more strange drivers (like people in the left turn lane going straight and people ignoring stop signs).

MTB cycling 45:00 [1]

MTB on pavement and gravel om West Campus, including several times up and down Half Ulrik's. The band was at the paved football field getting ready to practice, I guess.

The forecast looks pretty good for the weekend - hoping to get in some MTB riding and a little running.

Shuffled around on West Campus. It feels like the pleasant temps of the last few days are coming to an end

running 40:00 [2]

A jog on the paved bike path at the streamway park in DeSoto. Fun, but a little bit tiring. I carried the KP map and looked at it frequently for about half of the run.

Mary and I went out for an easy hour of riding on the bike paths out to Clinton. Fun.

Biking to/from today's O' sesssion.

I got out the door a little later than I'd planned, but the temps were reasonable and it was cloudy, so no problem. I slept a bit late and then watched the World Champs women's marathon. It was fun to see Amy Cragg finish in the same position (3rd) as she did at last year's RunLawrence Thanksgiving 5K.

4 x ~5 minute sprint courses on the Spooner Hall map. It is fun to be able to get some training out of a map that is so small (200 x 200 meters).

This was a lot of fun and felt useful. The map needs a few tweaks based on some changes since I made the map 2 years ago.

My orienteering was ok with one exception. On the loop that had a lot of controls (12 controls), I left the 4th control and headed to the 8th rather than the 5th.

On one of the loops I glanced at my map as I passed through a little patio and when I looked at the map I ran into a metal chair. That wasn't so fun.
