MTB cycling 1:40:00 [1]
ahr:124

MTB on roads and single track. I biked from home over to the river trail, did a loop, and then biked home. I haven't been on a bike for this long in a while and I was getting tired towards the end. Some headwind made and climbing up 13th street made it tougher at the end. Fun.

I think that last summer I had the idea of doing more biking in the summer. But, I didn't really do that. Maybe this year?

Work commute.

running 25:00 [2]

Some easy jogging on West Campus. The heat was unpleasant even at a slow pace and for a short run.

On my lunch hour walk I was listening to an interview with Frippe from Oringen podcast. Fun.

cycling 45:00 [1]

I biked to work for the first time in over a week. It felt good.

running 25:00 [2]

I shuffled around on West Campus. My legs felt slow. I've still got a bit of a cough.

orienteering race 18:50 [4] 3.44 km (5:28 / km)
ahr:161 max:175 21c

I decided to try running. I did an easy warm up jog and felt better than I've felt for a good week.

The running felt ok and I really enjoyed the course, terrain and map. I wish I'd paid more attention to the interesting architecture, but I guess I'd rather have a clean run and paying attention to the architecture probably wouldn't have helped.

At the finish I was drained. I was missing a top gear, but I pushed myself. At the finish I sat down for a bit. Then I got a drink (actually Mary got me a drink) and I sat some more. As I was sitting there, a fire/EMT came over and asked if I was ok. I guess I looked terrible. Mary described me as looking "droopy." And, I felt pretty bad, but not like I needed anything more than a bit of rest and an cup of sport drink.

I enjoyed the course. There was plenty of map reading. The map was solid. It was fun running in an open urban area (and traffic was so light on a Sunday morning that it was no trouble dealing with cars).

orienteering race 18:36 [4] 3.27 km (5:42 / km)

Second sprint race of the morning. I was tired and didn't have the top gear that I was missing in the first race...and didn't have the next to the top gear that I did having in the first race.

I think my routes are good. No real time losses at controls. Fun.
