On a mini-vacation to St Louis, so we hit Forest Park for a bit of slow orienteering. Fun. Lots of stopping to wipe sweat from my eyes.
Lunch with Dr Haynes at Pho Grand.
Short visits to the history museum (Mary wanted to se the exhibit on black dresses) and the art museum which has a few really nice Roman sculptures and a collection of Mo Limestone arches.
Work commute. I noticed that my back tire needs to be replaced. I'll try to get a new tire tomorrow.
I got home and was so annoyed by the hot weather that I decided not to run. Instead, I pulled weeds in the back yard, which was probably more miserable than running in the heat and humidity.
Work commute. My legs felt a bit of yesterday's Ulrik's Hill session.
After work I mowed the lawn. That's usually sweaty but uneventful. But tonight I mowed over a yellow jacket wasp ground nest. I was stung twice before I realized what was happening and then stung two more times before I managed to get far enough away from the nest. That wasn't much fun. I'm glad I'm not super sensitive.
Ran in a very light, off-and-on, rain. Fun. I jogged around on west campus and did 3 x the full Ulrik's Hill. That wasn't so fun, but it was a good thing to do.
I also spent a lot of time watching the Olympics: women's road race, women's rugby, men's weightlifting, and men's rowing. Rowing isn't so interesting (at least the stuff I watched). Weightlifting is much more interesting than I would have guessed. The cycling was good, but the crash near the end was scary.
