running 1:10:00 [2]

Easy run, mostly on West Campus. The temp was in the low 70s and it felt so pleasant (even through it was humid and sweaty).

I explored a bit and found a sculpture in an area that is mostly a place where facilities maintenance seems to be dumping various junk. Or maybe it is junk that just looked like a work of art?

When I got home I watched a bit of the YLE coverage of the elite race in Finland. Fun to watch. I don't understand a word of the langauge (except for the short interview with Emily Kemp).

I think I've got an idea for the July tiny orienteering map.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute.

I mowed after work instead of a jog. I could have waited a day or two before mowing, but we're forecast to have 4-6 inches of rain over the weekend and I figured I'd better get it done before the rain.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute followed by dinner downtown with Buckley who was passing through on his way to Colorado.

It was fun to have a visitor...but it kept me from doing a little bit of map drafting to finish my June tiny map. Instead, I'll have to finish it in early July.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute. I'd planned to do a run on West Campus. But I realized I needed to spend a little more time on my tiny map if I was going to finish it in June. Instead of jogging, I did some mapping.

The map is done. "Done" meaning I've been over the entire area and have most things mapped, but probably need to do some QA if I want it to be a better map.

MTB cycling 1:20:00 [1]

MTB on the river trails after a somewhat stressful work day. A cool front came through in the morning, so the temps were mid 80s instead of mid 90s. That felt very nice.

I noticed that I noticed when my concentration slipped. When I noticed, I was able to get my mind back on riding. That's good. It usually takes me screwing up a turn or a little obstacle to realize my mind is not on what I'm doing. I remain a lousy MTB rider, but I also keep making small improvements.

Work commute. On the way home I went by the June tiny map and checked out something - sort of like fieldchecking.

running 1:30:00 [2]

A muggy and slow jog on the trails at Clinton. I felt a good bit better than I did last week.

I listened to a couple of podcasts while I shuffled along, including an interview with a guy who ran the length of New Zealand and another with Kjell Erik Stahl (sp?).

MTB cycling 1:05:00 [1]

I thought about going out and finishing up the fieldwork for my tiny map. But, instead I took my MTB out to the river trail for some biking. It was fun.

I also managed to track down the owner of the drone I found Friday. It turns out they live just about 3 houses up the street from us. They were testing the drone and it got caught by the wind and flew off. It turned out it was only about 250 meters (as the drone flies) from their house. They were happy to get it back.
