PTOC sprint on a new map of Pink Hill Park (which is next to Burr Oak Woods). Nothing special about the place, but it was fun to run around and fun to have a new area.
My running never felt great.
We drove through some heavy rain to get to the event and we had a bit of run while we ran. That was much better than if the sun had been out and it had been just hot and humid.

Warming up and picking up some controls afterwards.
There's a little cemetery in the middle of the map with a historic marker. So I stopped and read it. It turns out there had been a farm at the area that is considered the place Quantril got his start. He apparently went with a group of 4 abolitionists to free slaves kept on the farm. Turns out, Quantril wasn't actually helping these 4 abolitionists (no kidding), he was leading them into an ambush. Apparently this was his introduction to being a murderous criminal.
The plan was to ride the river trails after work. But it started raining at about 4:30 and it seemed like the trails would be off limits. Instead, I was on the roads and gravel on West Campus. I did 5x the asbestos hill.
It was fun, but the river trails would have been more fun.
2 x 20 minutes of MTBO on a street map (just like yesterday, but shorter).

Some additional non-MTBO biking.

Jogging around at the "Lawrence Nature Park." I carried a Karttapullautin map of the park and looked a bit. Some of the trails were very wet, but overall it wasn't too terrible.
