running 25:00 [2]

Warming up and picking up controls.

Local event at the arboretum. Mary designed a course where you ran without a map but at each control there was a map with the next leg on it. It was different and more fun that I'd expected. It took me a couple of controls to get the feel for it. Fun.

I ran hard and felt ok but wasn't breathing so well.

I also ran the course Mary designed for young kids (ages ~3-5, but I figured it was really 3 and up). It was fun and I felt tired. I had to wake up a couple of the controls.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute. The temp was in the 30s in the a.m. and only about 60 for the trip home (in a light rain). It felt great.

KU commencement is this weekend and that means the town is full of drivers who don't know where they are going. I saw one crash.

An easy jog on West Campus.

Note

I felt fine today. But something was wrong with me yesterday. When I got home from work yesterday I took a 45 minute nap. Then I got up, had a bit to eat and watched some TV before going to sleep at about 8:45. I slept very soundly for almost 10 hours. I wonder what was wrong with me.

Work commute.

Something was wrong with me all day. I felt off. When I got home, I crawled in to bed and slept for 45 minutes.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute and to/from the grocery store.

I also ordered an anti-glare screen film for Mary's Kindle. I'm interested in seeing if it will make mapping with the Kindle as a tablet easier. So far, the biggest problem I've had in my experiments is that the glare on the screen can be a big problem.

running 10:00 [2]

Some jogging.

orienteering 10:00 [2]

A short sprint line O' course on Daisy Hill. I drew a bunch of different line O' courses that were more or less parallel. You saw people and were sometimes on the same line for a while, but you still had to read the map because each course was a different. I ran hard since I started late and was trying to catch up to everyone. I saw them a lot but never caught up.

There were 5 of us tonight: Mary, Gene, Jenny and Emilia (sp?). Emilia is Jenny's sister who is visiting. After the run, we went downtown for dinner at Merchants and then some wandering around. Fun.

Roads and bike paths to the Robinson Gym map.

I ran a course on the RG map. Running was not so comfortable because of the warmth and humidity. Fun.

I need to make some map changes - new tennis and volleyball courts + remove the single trees that have been cut down.
