My phone rang at about 9:40 last night (when I was asleep after a long day at SMP). I checked the incoming number, didn't recognize it and rolled back over. Then I realized that I ought to listen to the voice message. Maybe it was Tom from a county jail where he was being held on a charge of license plate tampering.
It turned out to be the TV news guy I'd talked to on Friday wanting to know who won the race. I was pretty sure that FMMA had won the HS varsity team competition (and a quick look at Attackpoint found Pinksocks' post with that info). I didn't have full results, but I know enough about TV news to know that even one bit of information would be useful, so I called back.
The TV guy said that they would run a story in a few minutes. Instead of going back to bed, I went downstairs and watched the KSHB TV 41 news and got to see a nice little bit of coverage.

The station also did a live video from the park at 8:15 yesterday morning. I didn't see that (I was out in the forest at the time), but I've heard that at least one orienteer was in his hotel room getting ready to leave and Mary popped up on the TV screen as part of the live coverage.
I'm not sure they'll post the video on their web page, but it might be worth a look at:

It was nice to see the coverage and nice that our small efforts to get some press coverage worked. And, of course, it was cool that they focused much of the video on an OKer running!
