More checking of control locations at SMP after the meeting with Mike S, meangene, Paul C, Dick N. and Mary.

I was on the model area. The model is, of course, not the best part of the area. But it gives a pretty good picture of the variety of terrain on the map. Many (most?) people don't understand how to make use of model events, so I'm not sure if people will be able to learn what they should.

Note

I designed a little (~4.5 km) sprint course on the Burcham Park map. Here are a few Vine videos from the second control. It was darker than it looks in the videos.

I should also note that it was cold. The temp was around 11F with a steady wind from the north. It was cold.

Work commute.

Mid 50s for trip to work. Mid 30s and light rain for the trip home. Yesterday we had record warm at 75 F. Tonight the forecast is for snow.

Headlamp trail run at Clinton. I included 10 minutes at an honest effort. I felt mostly good.

The temp was dropping but it was still above freezing. The rain was falling but it was light. It was actually very nice to run.

I saw a white bunny. It was very close to the spot I saw a white bunny before. I suspect it was the same bunny. I didn't have time to get my camera out before the bunny hopped away.

A bit of jogging to warm up.

PTOC red course at Blue and Gray. Fun and Tom Hanley set courses that minimized the rough/thorny areas. The running on trails was a bit slow because last night's rain made for some mud.

I had a reasonable run. I got tired on the last third of the course.

The map needs to have trails updated. There were plenty of new trails.

I beat Jenny by a minute or so. That was nice. When she beats me it seems like it is always just a few seconds. When I beat her it has usually been by several minutes. Today was relatively close and I was ahead of her.

Ulrik ran the same course in 41. That's pretty fast.
