Trail run at Clinton. I looked at the map a good bit of the time. On the way out I was practicing MTB O'. On the way back I was practicing orienteering. It wasn't enough to consider it orienteering training, but it was useful. I was tired for the last 10 minutes or so.

I felt a bit dehydrated and tired after running. Enough so that I spent a good bit of the afternoon resting. When my leg cramped, I was inspired to drink a big glass of sport drink. Then I felt good (probably a mix of some sugar and some salt?) and decided to get out the door for some MTB riding on the river trail.
I've been riding in old running shoes because I'm such a klutz that I wasn't especially comfortable with my feet clipped in to the pedals. But, I rode with my feet clipped in. I figure the river trail is mild enough that it wouldn't feel uncertain. It was fine. It'll be a while before I feel comfortable with feet clipped in on rougher trails (like at Clinton).

I'm giving myself some MTB O' credit for a portion of the ride where I rode faster and worked on map reading on a winding trail (and managed to do both without crashing!).
Some jogging around Daisy Hill while adding and checking some features on the Daisy Hill sprint map. I had a goal of finishing the map by the end of August, but I haven't done much with it all summer. Nice weather made it easy to get out the door.
Trail run at Clinton overlook. I carried the MTB O' map and did some "kartlek." I learned something.
The run was not so nice. I got started a bit later than ideal and it was getting warm. But, I couldn't get myself away from the TV. I got up early and watched the last hour+ of the mens marathon the then the MTB race.

Afternoon (therefore hot) ride at Clinton. I did a little kartlek, but mostly I just rode and looked around a bit. My skills are improving and there's still plenty of room for improvement. I took the trail to the far end and then biked back on the road. Fun. I was tired at the end.
